I'm way better than my neighbor who's 92 and does not own a guitar

Great, but that dumb ++ badge has got to go..
It looks to fanboy..

On a technical level, I'll probably never be better than myself at 25 (15 years ago)

I'm way more well-rounded now though. Some of those years I spent slacking on my technique, I took some serious deep dives into aspects of playing & performing that I was frankly afraid of back then.

Here's a sloppy clip of something I've been attempting to learn the last week or two.

Thanks man. I've enjoyed learning a handful of his tunes lately, they're tricky in a way that isn't super technical but makes me push my playing out of the comfort zone in a way that's useful.

Very nice work on your clips as well!

I like your 335 tone and playing. Is that the Eastman 386/486? How you like it overall? Just wondering cause 355 types is it for me and you had a nice sound happening there.

It's an Eastman 386. I got it used locally for $650 with the aftermarket Bigsby installed. Overall, I'm super happy with the guitar especially at that price point. I was worried the maple body & neck would be too bright, but it's not bad at all. The quality & finish really are top notch, especially for the prices they go for on the used market.

The stock Kent Armstrong pups were useable but pretty underwhelming. I swapped them out for some Fralin Pure PAF's that transformed this guitar into an absolute monster for a 'budget 335'

It has a nice rich bite to it. $650 is a great deal considering Bigsby's ain't cheap. I have a bigsby on my Edwards and love the easy string tension. Sounding great Cobra!

Yeah, I'm not enough of a 335 guy to drop $2500-3k on a Gibson, but I'm extremely happy with this one. It's also my first/only Bigsby guitar, they're really great on an instrument that suits them.

Are you better than you?
I see what you did there!👍😆
