I'll wait and see what they do before I decide if it's good or bad.

I'll buy on reverb, but I've stopped selling there for most things. By the time I consider the fees, and shipping risks, etc., my local GC is worth getting a little less for the convenience; and if I "trade in" for something new, it's even better.

Fender sucks and they have basically become a corporate conglomerate. I won't buy anything tied to their company again. They make ten strats and nine of them are garbage. It's the same thing as Sweetwater getting cheap with the bit-o-honeys; evidence of top down failures within the company.

Fender didn’t buy reverb.

A private equity investment firm that also owns fender, bought reverb.

Same shit fees and same shit non existent service with the same risky information storing requirements.

As someone in a non-music field that recently went through PE acquisition, yes but also no. They'll keep it as is for a period of time, then they will start making changes to 'increase profitability' and things will get worse. In 3-5 years it will get dumped again, if it still exists.

Yeah I mean Fender tends to listen to it's consumers....... more than people care to think.

Maybe it will turn out good :dunno:

Fender doesn't own Reverb like you keep implying though, an investor partnership (Creator Partners and Servco) that has a large stake in Fender also owns reverb now. So just because Fender is decently ran at the moment does not mean reverb will be the same. They are both separate companies and have not shared any plans to work together, actually the opposite.

Guitar Worlds article states "Furthermore, Reverb emphasizes that while both investors also have stakes in Fender, Fender will not receive preferential treatment on Reverb, and their partnership will remain unchanged – including initiatives like Fender’s Certified Pre-Owned program."

Um........

Yeah sure...... let's pretend Reverb won't have any preference to a sister company pretty much or there wont be a mutual back scratch of some sort........ Okay and I'm a monkeys uncle ^_^

You seem heavily confused. They are not sister companies. Two investment firms that each have a stake in one company (Fender) bought another separate company together (reverb). That doesn't mean they are sister companies at all. Sister companies is more like Gibson owning Mesa Boogie. Fender and Reverb just share two investors, that's it. Sure they could pitch an idea to Fender to see if they were interested but any company can do this, they don't have to be sister companies to create a partnership. The investors only own a stake in Fender, but outright own Reverb so they can only make decisions for Reverb, not Fender.

So yes they certainly could work together if they choose to, but it is far from set in stone like you keep implying because they are not one company or sister companies. There are other shareholders in Fender that would have to agree with this for it to work that way.

Sister companys, parent company, cousin company...... whatever let's not pretend there isn't any connection...... like Musicians Friend isn't Guitar Center and vice versa..... they are pretty much the same thing.

I get it but Ima keep calling it that way....

Fender owns Reverb now..... or FenVerb or Feverb..... or yeah

I am not pretending that there is not a connection, I am simply stating the connection correctly while you are saying it the way you want it to be or the way you heard it on some dudes Youtube channel.

They share investors, that is the reality. Fender does not own Reverb.

Be dumb if you want cause you seem dead set on it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
