These things come with Rosewood boards now...... before it was Laurel and the Laurel is great but yeah......

Nvm the Gibson frets and one piece neck....... or the CustomBuckers........ but it's based off laser scans of vintage models unlike any of the previous iterations of 59 Epis........

Sweet Baby Les Paul....... evil bastards........ pure evil at 1300$.....

As Epiphone’s Inspired by Gibson Custom range expands, so does your chance to score a seismic slice of 6-string history, with the revamped 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue.

Thanks to advances in laser-scanning replication technologies, Epiphone has produced the most historically accurate reproduction of the 1959 Les Paul Standard, at a fraction of the cost of a Gibson Custom equivalent.

This Epiphone reissue includes a premium rosewood fretboard, a AAA flame maple top, and a galvanizing pair of USA Custombucker pickups, which Sweetwater’s sound scholars agree masterfully capture the lauded PAF style of the original axe. With the exacting attention to detail dovetailing into the use of Luxe Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors, Epiphone’s history-honoring Inspired by Gibson Custom 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue elevates your sonic prowess to ferocious dimensions of time-tested tone and style.

Didn't you just make a thread and we covered these?
No those are the Standard 59s......

These are the Standard 59 Reissues..... Come with Gibson Headstock, Gibson Frets, Custombuckers, One piece mahogany necks, Rosewood boards vs Laurel etc etc..... I believe 2 piece bodies too or possible one piece but 2 piece at the least for sure.

I'll merge them into the Epiphone thread
These are actually different topics.....

One is the Standard 59 and this is the Standard 59 Reissue. Kind of confusing but yeah, they are probably going to phase out the older 59s or not sure if they keep them now for those who can't afford the Reissues as the Reissues are very different now due to the addition of the Rosewood board vs Laurel amongst some other differences.

@japetus For example aside from the other differences and upgrades yeah the Gibson Headstock on the Reissues vs the 60s Kalamazoo one on the regular 59s and the regular Epiphone stuff.

Yeah but now they are doing it with Epiphones...... I think only the top end Gibson stuff gets built to that level for example.....

And nvm they are using Rosewood here and One piece mahogany neck as well as some other nice features.

Gibson marketing team goes to work, grabs a coffee, goes to the bathroom, takes lunch, comes back and goes for another coffee break, copies and pastes the laser scanning blurb and goes home.
Not a marketing dude from Gibson and far from it, you should hear my opinion on Murphy Labs.......... but hey either way you can get a PRS SE or LTD or whatever right...... maybe a Harley Benton...... or an Amazon Prime Les Paul......

Epiphones aren't the only guitars in town ^_^

You’ve missed the point of the joke

I’m not sure if it’s the same model (I think it is) but the new epiphones at my local have an RRP of $3299, on sale for $2639. Heritage h150s are around $2700 on sale at the same store let that sink in.

I have the standard 59 aged dark burst. I've aged all the hardware and sanded the neck a little. fucking fat baseball bat neck. Weighs 10 lbs
Got 8s on it

Just like Fractal - even MORE realer than the last one that was even more realer.

Yeah maybe that doesn't make sense in some places...... but in the states some of the Heritage models go for what Gibson USA Standard 50s go for......

So depending in what State your in or country or not sure where an Epiphone 59 Reissue goes for 3300 bucks it may not make sense but yeah given the price most can get them at on average in the States and the features they are not bad and a whole lot of guitar for what you get relative to other options if your after a solid Les Paul IMO.

And yeah ouch if those were my options I'd probably consider the Heritage a lot more for that money.

Next advertisement............ "Instead of Windows 98 like on our previous iterations of the Epiphone 59 Les Paul Stanard....... we are now using Windows XP to capture an even better scan of the real 59 feel, touch, sound and even smell using the latest AI and computing technologies"........ :dunno:

Wonder when Epi will start PLEKing to be that much closer

Half the distance to the goal line will never get you into the endzone.
Keep making these changes and you still will never have the real thing.
