Your Top 10 Guitarist of all Time........

They're literally only talking about the songwriting, not the guitar playing
Some people ARE talking about the guitar playing.

I remember this co-worker I had ranting to me about how I needed to hear the most amazing drum solo he'd ever heard. It was like dave groin or some other routine punk or rock drummer. So forgettable I don't remember who, but he was in AWE of it. I was like "you haven't heard very many drum solos have you man" and shrugged the whole thing off. People mostly don't know shit about shit, they just eat what they are fed. McDonalds makes an amazing burger in the mind of a child who hasn't had a decent burger yet.

Maybe there are "better" players here than the ones on my Top 10 ......

I guess then go do better than Taylor Swift/Elvis or something then.....

Right then where the hell is John Mayer/Tim Henson up in this biatch :dunno:

I refuse to believe that anyone on this site is :ROFLMAO:

Like, I understand people saying a guitarist that I didn't really hold in high regard is in their top ten if their actual playing is what's famous

Like if you, VBF, said Freddie King was in your top 10? I wouldn't have Freddie in my top 10, but I totally get why you would, right?

My mind is blown that anyone could say neil young is in their top 10 of guitarists - like the dude literally makes obnoxious feedback noises as guitar solos in his songs like a teenager

Idk......... George Harrison was pretty badass....... all the cool guitar parts were mainly thanks to him as cool as Lennon and McCartney were :dunno:
The only time Lennon was cool was when he got 6 ft under

I was always told they had Clapton do the solo in While My Guitar Gently Weeps because Harrison couldn't do it. The beatles are the most overrated pile of shit band I have ever had to suffer through boomer after boomer gushing over.

Not really and well they have records, hits, a career and generations of people they impacted to show for it........ probably more than most on my top 10 yet no Beatle made my Top 10.

Mark knopfler
Brian Setzer
Slash
Jimmy Page
Zakk Wylde
John petrucci
Jerry Cantrell
Chuck berry
Eric Clapton
Srv

I mean may as well put BucketHead on my Top 10 players given somes opinions...........

Should I put the guitarist from Insane Clown Posse on my Top 10......

Jesus Fuck Me......

I didn't make a list because my top 10 and the actual top 10 would be different. My top 10 would be mostly blues players i.e Freddie King but the real top 10 would need to have Hendrix and EVH cause I'd be weighing chops, originality, and influence level in totality. It is undeniable that certain players changed the entire approach to the instrument (t-bone, Chrisitan, hendrix, EVH) whereas others changed the approach but no one gave a shit i.e Stanley Jordan, lol.

I guess i'd have to have multiple top tens too

Guitarists that actually influenced me, full of players that actually did cool or unique things with the instrument in the genres I like to play - like Andre Olbrich, Chris Rest, Wolf Hoffman, Yngwie, Rolf Kasparek, Rudy Schenker, Rob Ramos, Criss Oliva, Alex Skolnick, Jon Drenning, etc etc etc etc

And then a "Rolling Stone" top 10 full of overrated boomer players that sold a million records, since that's how everyone judges skill at guitar, apparently, with like Jammy Handricks, Jimward Page, Leslie West, Steve Cropper, whoever played Ace Frehley's solos on the record, whoever played Joe Perry's solos on the record, Elric of Claptonibine, etc etc

In no order:
Shawn Lane
Holdsworth
Malmsteen
Hendrix
EVH
Rhodes
J. Beck
Benson
Martino
Chis Cain

While I'm sure there are some attractive males listed here, can you all honestly say they are all 10s? @NowYou'rePlayingWithPower please advise

Off of the top of my head; Honestly, not many. Hetfield, Mustaine, John 5 were all pretty cute at their peaks. Not sure I would label any a 10. Lynch aged pretty well, but he might be shorter than me according to an AI video I recently posted. Have heard that Keith Richards was a 10 back in the Victorian era. @skoora @rsm probably melted a few panties in their time from what I've seen. There's a number of members here who are hotties, but I'll decline from getting into it. I'm sure @The~Kid will tell me why I'm wrong and lay out a better list.

Guys I've decided I'm a tan pants TGP boomer now, and I'm changing my guitar style to strictly pentatonic and "feel" based improvising

As such, the top ten guitarists of all time are John Lennon, Slowhand, Bonermaster, and Jimmy Clamptom

This is the greatest thing I've ever seen on here. 😹

I don't know I think Neil brings something to the table that puts him up there with the greats........ it's not just the technique but it's the vibe and meaning the player brings to the music/playing for me.......

And Neil just brings it on all fronts from that perspective IMO.....

John Fogerty is the same in that aspect and easily a Top 10 from that perspective.

That perspective cannot be classified as “ Top 10 guitarists” though.
