EVH Wolfgang pickups and the EVH Frankie pickup. What do you think of them?

I have one in a partscaster and think it's great. Not quite as hot as a JB, but crunchier and clearer. Worth a hoon I reckon
That’s me too, it reminds me of a JB but without that mid spike and not as hot, but cleans up exceptionally well.
It’s a great pup, not my fav but I can’t justify taking it out of my guitar.

These seem to be US made.
Yeah, then that would exclude it from being the same as the Baretta Special pickup I would think. Although, I am assuming - I never checked the backplate or anything to see if country of origin is referenced.

They won't be the same. The pickup is more than the guitar :D

I have a USA Wolfgang in a Baretta and it's great for the VH stuff. I'm not completely convinced it's going to stay however.

This gets confusing, but I love the Wolfgang pickup that comes stock in the EVH Franky guitar. Is this the same pickup that's installed in the Wolfgang guitar? Because to me the version in the Franky is much hotter and open. The specs on the EVH website claim they are the same pickup.

My understanding is that all the import EVHs, including the Frankie, have the same import EVH Wolfgang pickups. They are really good pickups, however. I like them and the USA Wolfgang pickups, which are a little clearer to my ear.

The USA Wolfgangs have the USA pickups

What about the newish "high-end" Japanese Wolfgangs?
