Did you put the Solens in there? Those things are not cheap!

I installed the Solens before i sent to Mike. I find them to be quieter with less note "hash". Less smear on the initial attack. I like them in high gain applications. We will see how this turns out. I have some Sozo's, Vishay's, and Mallory's on standby if I don't like the Solens. I've used the Solens in SLO builds before and liked the extra clarity. I'm hoping this will end up being my one amp for my Thrash cover band H8TORADE

That sounds like they're a perfect fit for a five gain stage design in theory

I’ve now had my Langner mod 79 JMP back for two days and can confirm that this mod kills.
It’s more of everything that I loved about it when it was stock/boosted. It’s chewier, woodier, and much more aggressive, especially in the mids. There’s nothing modern or pretty about this mod, it’s raw and organic af and barks/snarls like a junkyard dog without sacrificing any of the core Marshall tone whatsoever. If anything it takes the Marshall tone even further into Marshall territory if that makes any sense. Lol
Also worth mentioning is the chewiness of the gain structure translates into an amazing feel of connectedness.
Of all the modded Marshalls I’ve had/played this is my favorite to date.
Mike was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process with a quick turnaround as well.
Highly recommended mod and modder!

Mine shipped today and is on its way so can't speak to the amp itself in detail yet obviously, but the experience with Mike was nothing short of excellent. I'm old school and have incredibly high expectations when it comes to customer service, and the communication, level of genuine desire to get me what I envision, mindfulness of keeping me within budget, and the professionalism was above and beyond.

It is beyond refreshing to have individuals like Mike and Jeremy (GZ ampworks) providing not only top tier amplifiers, but equally important...incredible customer service when its generally abysmal 95% of the time otherwise in my experience. Hats off to these guys and their incredible artistry, ethic, and ability to deliver the fucking goods.

Dude, I'm thrilled you like it! Your amp came out great. Thank you again for putting your trust in me.

I absolutely HATE it when I'm treated like crap by businesses. I've experienced it with car shops/garages, guitar shops, gun shops, you name it... When you're having something custom done like this, every little thing matters. I really just listen. That's all there is to it. You told me what you wanted and I listened haha.

Please let me know when the amp arrives safely!

Just wrapped up a mod to this 50W Frankenstein build for a recording studio in LA. The owner cobbled it together with a Classic Tone PT and an OT from a Kelly Treble n Bass. Despite it's horror-show appearance, it sounds absolutely incredible. Has a mean, glassy, mid-range growl. I've made a few changes to the mod along the way and this one has those updates. But I think the oddball mishmash of parts in this amp is kinda cool.

The bent PT is the secret to this one🤣
It’s a rock n roll summation of the false perspective of a two party system. If you’re in the back, it leans right. In the front, it leans left. But the money the amp needs doesn’t care and the sounds out of the speaker is always the same, 😂

Had mine arrive today and gonna unbox here in a bit and at least plug in for a quick intro. Gonna be digging into it this weekend.
