It's a NFT and I can't seem to figure out how to tighten down the arm insert nut with the plastic washer underneath. It's just spinning in place right now...thoughts?

Geo for the win! Adjusting arm tension on these 'OG' Floyd collars is a PITA. You need a wrench from below to stabilize the lower nut and another wrench up top to adjust tension on the top nut. But lots of folks prefer them because the ones with the threaded collar that spins on from the top are notorious for not maintaining tension. I ended up yanking all the OG style collars and threaded collars on my few remaining Floyd equipped guitars for the 'Push In' style and I've never looked back. You can adjust the tension on the push-in style so the arm spins as freely or is a tight as you want with no 'slop.'

Put the bar in and press the trem down. Using a 12mm wrench, which they used to supply, tighten from underneath. Be careful not to chip the paint.
If he can fit the open end of the wrench from underneath he won't chip the paint up top. I think I was able to do this on my old Kramer with no issues but it's been a while since I had to do it, but either way will work just fine.:2thumbsup:
