Dear Gary Moore and Mike Bloomfield

I'm hoping next year I can snag a white LP Custom, but what I REALLY want to do is grab 2 more outside of the white one to have refinished; one as a gold top Custom and one as a silverburst because I ain't buyin' a fuckin' Epiphone and I'm not spending $7K on one.
Nice LP's!!!

Truthfully I wanted one of the white customs too or either the trans pink or the clown burst quilted maple 135's but this popped up in Houston at half the price of those. I already dealt with japanese shipping on the E-SA168, was a headache, so I grabbed it. No regrets. I've tested many pickups in that thing for someone of limited gear $ like myself the only problem is they all sound good in that guitar!

I only advise people to get the sahweet dubbel kreem. But, that purple with gold pole pieces look right in that axe. Then again, I love

Once I can get purple and gold it was just a matter of procuring the gold open face cover. The dubble kreems are sweet though, would've mated this guitar pretty welll. I actually need to wring that SD out for a while cause I swapped pups out of it into the Viper and just tossed those in there to fill the hole. The neck is a Seth bridge. I wanna try this combo and keep the pole pieces on the Seth low. They are always brighter than I like. I'd rather have a 57 than the Seth, that's my experience so far.

I have faith you will make the right decisions, brother. One day, you will convert to strictly DiMarzios. And on that day, I'll be there to welcome you into the fold.

Man, I got mine from Gakkido in Japan, all I did was pay the price on Reverb, no additional customs payment or anything (Gakkido informs you they cover it all and handle it) and a week later, 6 days if I remember right, the guitar was in my hands! The most work I did was chasing down the mailman because I found the delivery slip on my door stating they’ll be back the next day, to which I then started hauling ass trying to find them.

Dude was in another apartment complex and actually drove back to mine after he finished his route to give me the guitar!

This is what I’d like to have one refinished with-

A little more sparkle than the average gold top color.

I've never played an edwards, are they kinds of like the burny and Orville where they are sort of related to gibson and can use the same headstock etc? Les Pauls are my favorite guitars.

I hit the LP hard today. All day, just getting cracked out on my Paul knockoff. I need a better neck pickup cause this Seth sucks no matter how I slice it. It has to be a dimarzio since they come in purple and gold. @Matt300ZXT @JohnnyGtar air norton, liquifire, or SD2? Other? I gotta SD in the bridge, yeah buddy it sounds good but I wanna raise it a little higher tomorrow.

I'd go with an Air Norton. I was really close to putting one of those in one of my guitars, but went with 36th Anniversary PAFs and never looked back. I LOVE that pickup in the neck.

The SD/PAF 36th Anniversary is the combo in my Les Paul and that's probably the first time I've found myself intentionally playing rhythm parts on the neck pickup, and of course solos.

The liquifire seems a little smoover in the top end. I was trying to find some decent reviews but everyone had super strats not Pauls. Those both seem like good pickups.

BLUESBUCKER - DP163.
Thanks Johnny I'ma go look right now.

Not related to Gibson at all, they’re a brand under ESP and at least finish work is done alongside the E-II’s. There’s ALL kinds of speculation on where they’re actually made. At one point ESP built a small shop in China and used to ship all the materials from Japan to China where they were built, then sent back to Japan for finishing. The latest ‘trust me bro’ info is that they closed the China shop a little while ago and only make them in Japan now.

Personally, I don’t care where they’re built as long as they come out like mine did. That thing is fucking flawless and there’s not a single aspect I can bitch about. The only thing I’d prefer is if they were finished in nitro.

They’re only allowed to sell them in Japan, which is how they skirt around Gibson lawsuits. Word is they’re going to discontinue their Gibson models because more are ending up in the States and they don’t want to deal with any shit from Gibson. There’s definitely a lot less of them on Reverb over the last couple years, brand new ones anyway. You can still get them, you just need to look a little harder and I know a couple stores won’t ship to the US anymore.

This is a great post, and accurate. My LP is one of the supposed 2009 "chinese junk" models.....like your guitar I really can't find anything to complain about with it other than it would look better with lacquer. It plays flawlessly. It sings. It has a perfectly fitted long neck tenon. It's very resonant in that neck joint area. The rosewood is chocolate not that pink stuff. One piece mahogany back. Thick maple cap but ultra thin flame veneer. Not very deep looking flame as a result. But I can live with it because tone.

I've also noticed the decrease of available Edwards lately as you mentioned. About half of what it was four-five years ago. I would love to have another ES and another LP. Had my eyes on that Jimmy Page lacquered/relic'ed the other night...killer. Has that sort of 59 burst look to it. I'd have to agonize between that or a custom right now, lol.
