Tim Pierce is my favorite but I take concepts more so than actual lessons..
It starts with his fluidity and musicality.
Things like playing through key changes and landing on certain notes......
The kind of ideas to help me to improvise on odd things in real time...Kind of thing where you can'r hang out in a box pattern.
I hate that occasion when I find something I can't improvise decent on...
If I'm really looking for new colors I'll open books....
Also watch Beato but his teaching bores me, I perk up with his interviews and the conceptual stuff.....
Been playing a million years and never been a real woodshedder, but I'm always thinking of ideas at work or driving down the road.
I have carpal tunnel in my left hand so woodshedding doesn't; work... I get through band practice fine, but when I get to practice soloing at home it doesn't take very long before the left hand starts going numb. I'm afraid if I get surgery I may lose things and never get them back. I did have the surgery on my right hand and it's pretty good though I'm not a super fast downstroke guy..that's more an elbow thing than wrist anyway...Down stroking a lot was never my thing, I like to inject a tad of funk into my hard rock....
