Hope things turn around soon!
Hard to make a living when the minimum wage only increases by 2% every 25 yrs.Yet somehow that $18-22/hr seems to go less far than the $5-6/hr it was when I was a teenager, and washing dishes. Oh right, because back then teenagers actually did that shit vs grown ass men who have bills.
Thanks for the support!Sorry to hear about the difficulties You have had... Best of luck to You and Yours, I am sure the things will turn to better soon!![]()
Speaking as someone who did @ 17, in retrospect, never take un-solicited advice.Join the military. Food , clothing and a roof over your head.
Fighting back fiercelyStay positive. I know its hard, but don't let the system get you. You are better than that!!!

Oh man, I served mandatory military service. Food was shitJoin the military. Food , clothing and a roof over your head.
E-1 was $501 a month in 1981. [$6K a year].Thanks for kind words

Also here it doesn’t pay as well as US and doesn’t have those cool benefits.
All things equal your E-1 ends up with 2144 bucks + benefits, gym and shit.E-1 was $501 a month in 1981. [$6K a year].
Current E-1 = $2144. [$25,728 a year.]
Dang you guys are getting it raw. IUOE 18 is only $68 a quarter. Roughly $275 for the year with pretty decent health and a nice pension plan. We do pay working dues, but it’s only a few bucks a check. In house union that provides no benefits. Dues are currently about $130/ month.
I have actually hit up all the suitable positions available in my area. Just monitor and apply all the new ones that appear. And I landed an interview too, as I stated in op.How many applications / resume's did you submit today ?
Chin up, brother. I’m going through shit right now I wouldn’t wish on anyone. After nearly 20 years in management I had to drag my tools out and go back to fixing wrecked cars today. Not an easy living for a young man let alone a guy with Lyme disease at 56. Gotta just make it to another day. Every day. JBT knows what I’m dealing with. Best of luck to you!Fighting back fiercely![]()

NAVY right nao will take anyone w/ a heartbeat, no college, no HS dip, no GED. but you'll be a slave.
Also heard that despite what current admin is claiming about recruitment word is they're trying to get rid of ASVAB testing all together.
Shiver me timbers. Everyone needs a Military full of dumbasses.
YMMV.
100% accurate assessment. My experience in the military was everyone fighting for slots by throwing others under the bus, SNCOs looking for any/all reasons for article 15s, lackluster training and almost constant SHARP awareness training because jarheads literally can't stop themselves from raping. I'll never suggest someone join the military, especially females. I was a try hard, do it all, be it all and I metaphorically got my shit pushed in for it. Kept my head down, did the hard work and got the fuck out. The consensual sex was tight though, women in the military are a different breed 10/10.
When i landed in San Diego on my way to my ship, cigarettes were $7 bucks a pack in 1981.Yet somehow that $18-22/hr seems to go less far than the $5-6/hr it was when I was a teenager, and washing dishes. Oh right, because back then teenagers actually did that shit vs grown ass men who have bills.
