TWO QUESTIONS FOR AMERICA

Name a single time in your life when the US government didn’t operate under the premise that stealing a little less of my money wasn’t something I should feel grateful for. To them, not increasing the size of a government program is a cut. Not increasing taxes equals a tax cut.

The difference is there’s a plan for infrastructure, services, policies, etc…
Trump’s blatantly doing this to curry favour from Republicans who are finally seeing him for who and what he is.
He’s trying desperately to keep the rats from jumping ship.

And brother, from thousands of miles away you explaining to me under which administrations my finances were and are better is ludicrous don’t you think ?

Hasn’t stopped me before mate 😂

Another foreign crybaby?

That one is so pissed that he's not an American that he obsessively criticizes everything America related. It's got to be a sad way to live your life.

I’m done trying to explain to people like you two that what America decides affects the rest of the world.
Australia has multiple trade agreements with the USA. The idiot in the White House right nownow is fucking over more countries than just yours.

But i thought Americans are the ones paying all the tariffs?
Trade agreements are 2 sided. If it's a bad agreement, why did Australia agree to it?
Sounds like it's just as much Australia's fault, no?

What a faggot you are all triggered by the U.S. President and why did you post pictures of yourself holding hands with your bandmate on the couch? Poofter. :gay::ROFLMAO:

Australia has pre-existing supply chain and logistical agreements with impacted nations eg: China, Canada, Mexico.

The tariff costs are similarly passed back through the chain. If we’re selling ore and minerals to those countries as a primary producer, which are then made into products which the US wants to import, your domestic importers as tertiary producers shoulder the increased cost, which of course reflects a rise in the manufacturing baseline costs of the secondary producers.

This is an economic protectionist policy done in order to prevent off-shoring of goods and services which could be USA made, which isn’t an inherent problem, however Trump’s method of forcing American consumers to offset these tariffs through end-of-chain price rises and selective bonuses is just transparently dodgy. He pretends to make it look like he’s acting in the interests of the Average Joe, when really the people who benefit most from these tariff increases are his billionaire buddies who raise buyer prices to offset the tax increases.

Meantime, Australia has little choice to comply because if we quit our two- decade old AFTA (free trade agreement), then Australian citizens lose their jobs, especially in mining and raw resources, not to mention jeopardising future trade agreements going forward.

Whilst what you're saying is true the initial impacts will hurt local US importers and buyers and Trump is betting the sting hurts and it forces local US recipients to rethink their current country importing and look to local US producers or elsewhere in other non-tariffed countries.

Of course, pain will be felt and passed back down but you need a consequence to create another avenue of thought and sourcing.

How else could you enact a change to support the agenda of Make America Great Again.

Yes, the initial costs and pain are terrible but if you're playing the long game there is no other way to promote self-reliance and new jobs where possible once and for all.

I see no issue with import tax increases as a way to protect USA manufacturing.

The issue I have is with a President who increases the taxes, collects the money, and then disburses it back to those he sees as deserving based on their political persuasion/apparent loyalties to himself.

This is the selective bonuses he’s promised to air traffic controllers who essentially worked for free during the shutdown. He’s pretty much rewarding workers he sees as loyal with the tax money paid for by American importers.

Worse, he has no idea where he’s drawing these funds from (ie: what sectors he’ll preclude from receiving tariff profits) although he’s made the promise to the public.

You need actual proof of what you're saying about Trump because I'm not aware of this in any way.

Can you provide detail of why Trump is an idiot as you said below? Is your political leader smarter and wiser than Trump? Who would make a better leader for the US than Trump and why?

"The idiot in the White House right now is fucking over more countries than just yours."

From where I sit, anybody putting their country first is considered an idiot because it doesn't sit well with countries feeding off the tit of the US.
Same can be said of Putin's haters' views.

Trump ain't perfect and there are things he does that I'm in violent disagreement with but he is the best of a bad lot and your county's political theater is a massive joke run by politicians who stab each other and steal their positions regularly. Why have an election, let them vote in whoever then they are stabbed and replaced by a person that wasn't voted for. Before you say they vote the party in that isn't true because it's an individual out beating the boards to get elected and the people vote that person and not the party...if you're honest.

As I’ve said, the protectionist tariffs aren’t the issue.
It’s the other points I’ve referenced in my previous post #292
