This morning on the NORMAL channel of my MPII, the side that is stock ‘68.
I have a EP style echo running in the front (with consequent EP fet boost).
No Variac, no special mid pot, no fat cap.
These amps (I used to own 124XX) are just uber-harmonic city, and were kinda hard to tame. Which is...
I read on another forum that there's a revision to the 3534 50w that includes some new switches. Has anyone else heard about this? I have found zero evidence for this online so I'm skeptical.
I was a demo guitarist for Ed (got hooked up with his crew by Kimbo Davis who was close with Hartley and who'd reached out on behalf of Ed's business manager Barbara Page). That ended getting me hooked into working (this was all on the side, I was/am a fund manager IRL) on the brand new VH...

I write on Geopolitics and used to, uh, “do some work” in the PACCOM sphere, so this of particular interest to me.
You can listen to Ed's unproduced, scratch-mixed outtakes. They are all over YT, leaked out of Sunset. His amp is very good, it is a very good tone. But the "fairy dust" was in Donn's "mix it like a vocal" technique that Templeman demanded. You put a lot of mids to tape, insuring the dynamics...
