H&K amps are always mushy and undefined. If you want any type of definition or tightness, go for something else.

Might want to try swapping your pedalboard cabling. The tension on the cabling with the full size leads and that short of cable is instense. I have a bunch of the flat Ernie Ball ribbon cabling I am about to put up for sale for cheap. If you happen to be interested, DM me.

I put NOS tubes in every position the amp can handle. For my Rivera, I have NOS RCA 12ax7 long black plates and they kill any other tube I have tried in my rig. YMMV

You grabbed the Boss with a buffer, which is going to make it noisier. I believe the Waza has the option to turn it off. That being said - you bought a Boss when you could had a Griffin Analog CE-Custom?
