Thats the difference of the thicker wire...
Even if its 9K the 42 gauge has more "pull" than the 43 or 44...
The "hot" feel of a 9K with 42 gauge gets to the JB hottness without the compression and with a little more openess...
I love front loaded cabs...
Its a totaly diffrent feel...the don't have the bass response of a rear loaded and they are not as sagy...
BUT they are tight, direct and clear, and its like removing a blanket of the amp...
I had an EVH rear loaded cab but it was way too sedate next to my front...
Hello there,
I was thinking of going digital for my live rigs...here is the rig I am using in practice:
2204 jose modded
4X12 with G12H30 HERITAGE 75HZ
WET-DRY-WET with delay-detune
I dont really care for a clean channel,I just roll the volume knob...
I am looking for a digital rig that can...
I have tried the RFT...very gainy tube but way too smooth for my tastes...
Ei gives more sag to the tone whereas the tungsram is tighter and crispier...works great on my engl straight...
Tungsrams were my favorits for many years in marshalls as well...
Then I tried the pschycodave recipe
V1 - Ei longplate
V2 - Chinese 12AX7
V3 - Ei longplate
I still use the tungsrams in my Engl Straight though...I like them in there...
