Tone Master tube head is one of my favorite Fender amps. Just beautiful.

I did not like the sound of the Source Audio EQ2 at all. It's inherit voice is definitely not for me. Taste is completely subjective. I had a Aphex in the 80's. Sounds ok. Extremely noisy.

I have a few others. The other one I usually use is a MXR M108S GEQ.

I haven't dug out the Mark IV yet. But this is my guess of what is close.

The Fryette will cut better in the mix. Fryette cuts better in the mix than most amps. Both are excellent amps. I'm fairly familiar with both if you have questions. I haven't had either around in awhile.

No idea. It's always been that way. These numbers came from Cliff at Fractal. They came from a Mark IV. I believe they are accurate.

The actual frequencies and Q width is not what it says on the Mesa GEQ. But it is close. I have a PTEQ and haven't tried to match the Mesa GEQ. Should be interesting to see what others have found. Fryette duplicated the GEQ on the Synergy IICP module. Should be able to get that information...

The names of the wiring have never been standardized. You will see them labeled different all over the place.

THD Bivalve My answer might change depending on what I am doing. I mostly use Fryette, Mesa, Orange and THD amps. I tend to prefer amps that the harmonics are in phase.

Fizz has more to do with the sensitivity of the individual than the gear. Just like some people are more sensitive to light or smells. That and 90% of perception is past experience. I have a pair of Vintage 30 that is way brighter than the rest. It's like having a strobe light in your face...

Just to be clear I think all these amps sound like shit. Every amp you ever owned. Including the one your thinking of buying. Interesting no one has mentioned the amps I use most. Probably not a big enough demographic.
