I don’t think so. I’m not some full on expert either. But I’ve been finding some really nice IRs. I think the trick is to go for really raw sounding IRs. That’s the type I like. Not eq’d and messed. I think that is where the “all sound the same” thing comes from. Everyone choosing similar...
I want to get a “tone wood” guitar soon. I played a Caparison in a guitar shop in Japan and loved the unique tones. As far as I can see Mayones and Caparison offer the most thick and unique woods.
Also, love the colour. That’s probably one of the reasons I like it so much. Love that look.
Yep! I swore off nickel frets because I blamed them. But my ESP seems to be holding up way better. So funny you say that. This has had full refret. Is it the wire Ibanez use or something?
He likes the aesthetic often. My main axe these days is a custom shop Stef. Just the 1 hum. I love these Fishmans, but I swear it’s hard not to fall into his rhythm tones sometimes lol. They do sound like him. Bonus being the Fishman stripe glows in the dark.
It’s taken me many, many years to learn how to play it. I was way too muscular with my playing when I got this. I don’t get the thin neck Ibanez thing being “easier”. It takes restraint. Which most young men struggle with. Now I’m not so young.
But man this guitar got me in love with Mahogany...
