I have a Canadian accent from when I lived in the U.P. of Michigan and Wisconsin.
It's pretty faded. But still there occasionally.
We all sound like redneckss.
I always imagine Steve voice being deeper and slower. Now when I read his post I need to add the Hee Haw accent.
I expect more Roy Clark and less gain to make it authentic.
There is no such thing as a consistent speaker. Some are more so than others.
I have about 15 Vintage 30. None of them sound the same.
The P50E after years of comparing them directly with other speakers I find they really don't sound that different than the common Celestion speakers.
For me...
The P50E is a different voice. I have a Ampeg System Switcher hooked up to five 4x12 cabs. One of the cabs is Deliverance P50E 4x12. The rest of the 4x12 cabs have various Celestion speakers.
I have had over about a dozen different guitar players to check out the cabs with various amps blind...
Definitely different. But some similarities. Big bass, scooped midrange, angry bees highs. Add in the rest of the band more similar than different. It's almost like the tube and solid state version of that type of sound. They both can sound like a V8 pegged.
I remember 30 years ago a friend of mine was buying speakers in bulk from Celestion. He was paying about $25 a speaker for most models. I imagine that number has doubled.
Most 4x12 cabs the speakers probably cost around $200 for the builder.
Back in 1987 I lived across the street from Skyway bowling alley. Behind my house Jimi's Father Ale lived. I became good friends with Jimi's nephew Leon. We smoked a lot or weed and ate mushrooms together.
Leon had a lot of Jimi"s cloths and other personal belongings.
For me conversations...
Yes I believe they are Tortex. They sit between the yellow and orange Dunlop. Closer to the yellow.
GC I have only seen Tortex the last few years. Not sure what they were before that.
