    Talk to me about speakers!

I hear the new cabs have the G12K100s (I think...) and they sound killer but I wanted to consider my options, however, I don't know of many speakers besides the previous and V30s. I was contemplating ordering a 2x12 and having a G12k100 and maybe something else. My amp settings are as follows to...

Was just pulling a 4x12 cover off...

From the tabs at the bottom but it felt very stuck in/like I'd rip some kind of connection up the top if I pulled it. If I pull this out, will it go back in just as nicely? I ask because, I had this Canvas made up recently of a pic I really love, it's on a frame folded around the corners as you...

How hard's it to make a flightcase?

(When your dad's a carpenter?)  I'd like to make a wooden one for my Herbert, I've not attempted a drawing yet but I wonder if anyone can alert me of anything I may miss? + Are there any kinds of specific shops that would sell the foam that most cases have on their inside? Thanks.

    To all you Cordial lovers

What do you do for rackmount gear? Peter D/S have both recommended these cables but they only appear to come in 3/6/9 meters and when you have 2 rackmount units next to each other it's not really needed... Do cables connecting rackmount gear effect the tone at all? Sorry for my naivety. Thanks.

Anyone else have high action or huge/super tight strings?

I heard about higher action improving tone through a post by Nile's Karl Sanders on their forum ages ago, having tried and liked the result I've had a friend machine me a 1mm riser for my nut so the action isn't just high at the bridge but even: and oh my, the difference is amazing, the...

    Power conditioners

I'm after a Furman Power Conditioner maybe for Christmas but there's so many I don't know which is best for me, surge protection sounds good and they all seem to provide enough sockets for me so why so many models?  What's the difference in the classic series...

    Retubing...

 I'm going to retube my amp now, however, Doug of Diezel UK told me to try my old tubes with a new Fuse because I think my tubes 'went' because a cable in my guitar come lose/he said it could have been a mains surge. 1. It's 1&6 that's LED lit up on my Herbert, do I need a fuse in to bias...

    Herbert biasing guide questions

This guide is from Diezel's site, I just wanted to ask some question about it so I know what's going on when I get my amp retubed/so I can learn to do it myself :) 1) Remove the backpanel. You'll see three (four) jacks above the fuses. No prob. 2) Set your multimeter to mA and plug your...

    Is this normal (possibly overheating)

I played my Herbert the other day, it's all working fine, always is, but when I play it for a few hours straight such as recently and change to clean the 2 distortion channels completly dull down to a very horrible tone and basically nearly cut out, my amps always fine afterwards, say turn it...

Hey guys My freind just gave me a message saying his uncle's selling a jackson PS37, near/around 110 English pounds but apparently isn't in great condition. Hardly any info on the net about this guitar, all I know is that it's a V shape and he's going to sent me some pics soon. Anyone know...

    Boost

Hey guys Well recently people on here recommended I use a boost to get my guitar to get a certain palm mute sound I was after (very death metally tone) so I woundered what would be some of the best ways of boosting/best pedals/rackmount units if avalible? I'm using a Diezel Herbert by the way...

    Warming up and cooling down

Hey there Obviously you leave tubes heating up for a few minutes/longer if your going to play at loud volumes but what should you do when turning your amp off? I've heard of people letting amps cool down for a few minutes, does this mean turning the 'run' switch off and just leaving the amp on...

    Huge palm mute sound

Hey guys, just posted this in the amp forum and realised this'd probally be a better place to post it... I'm trying to get a sound doing palm mutes, the main thing I want is the 'scorchingness' of it, if that makes sence to anyone I hope that made sence. This song's called An Autopsy...
