Wow, I didn't know a Krank Kerry was in the works at one point, looks pretty wild with the front facing FX loop. I am very curious to know how it sounds, do you know if it is similar to the Marshall KK?
Mastodon - Colony of Birchmen
Acid Bath - Pagan Love Song
High on Fire - Snakes for the Divine
Opeth - Demon of the Fall
The Smiths - This Charming Man...(Hey, it takes all kinds ya know)
Pretty good riffing right there, dude killed it. Thanks for posting, I am kinda intrigued by this pedal as it feels like the 8100s out in the used market are getting into Cuckoo land prices. Hell, just a couple years ago, you could snag the head used for the same price as what the pedal costs...
Yup, he did indeed! Pretty criminally underrated amp I think.
Besides all the obvious things he brought to the table, (killer songwriting, solos, riffs and more), he was one of the first death metal singers that wanted his songs to be about more than just the usual death metal shtick at the...
This is the good stuff right here. Simply f**king crushing. I was watching High on Fire In-Studio for this album and Matt Pike had the original #001 "Mr. Science" SLO on loan from Mike Soldano paired up with a Laney. (at about 1:13 for the In-Studio video)
Fuck, that is terrible. Seemed like a honest to goodness standup dude. On many a shitty day, I could still get a chuckle out of his humor. This is just a number of the places that will be a little emptier without him. RIP Dan
One last thing, don't know what fuzzes you have in your arsenal but if one of them has a bias knob, try fiddling with that. Maybe cranking that sucker down a bit to compensate for those hot actives might get you closer to where you wanna go.
Man, I have tried many a fuzz with actives and almost all sounded like many a butthole. I have had some success with the Boss FZ-2 (or Behringer SF300 if ya don't feel like like getting reamed w/o lube on the used price of the FZ-2). Maybe it's because the Boss is buffered that it works out...
No personal experience playing one but they sound great to me and seem pretty dang versatile. When everyone from Jeff Beck to Karl Sanders (Nile) can make it work for them, you know it can cover some serious ground.
For sure, Gina's got game! I caught them for the first time a couple weeks ago in the STL, they must have played close to 23 songs. Well worth the price of admission! Cold Blooded Angel and I'd Do Anything on acoustic was a nice surprise as well.
Damn skippy, Pagan Terrorism Tactics and When the Kite String Pops were phenomenal albums. To think what more awesome stuff Acid Bath might have done had we not lost Audie.. :(
These guys are pretty underrated, though a little hard to pin down genre-wise. When they brought the heavies, however, I think they fit pretty nicely into the stoner metal vein. Their album, Metridium Fields, is definitely worth a listen.
Fuck yes. Ya'll are speaking my language!
Hard to whittle it down to just a couple, but here goes:
High on Fire: Madness of an Architect (Everything about it, the intro buildup, main verse riff, outro.. all massive!)
Operator Generator: Polar Fleet (Some excellent grooves on this one, remind...
Wow, some good stuff around here. Here is what currently lurks about my cage/ rehearsal areas:
Rivera Knucklehead Tre Reverb
Rivera Stage IV
Soldano SLO
Ampeg VH-140C
NADY GTH-100 (Surprisingly not a bad head for a super cheap pickup, though I doubt it is 100 true watts. Can't seem to get as...
