I did it to my old 3 channel triple. It still sucked and was useless for my setup.

Mesa Mark V, the crunch mode on channel 2 was my favorite for rock. Channel 1 has unlimited tones, from sparkling cleans to mid gain and beyond.

The cleans are fantastic. The "master" is sensitive. It gets loud very quickly. I attenuate the volume with a multi fx in the loop. It doesn't sound like a Mark, it sounds like a Rectifier. I find it very mid heavy, at least for playing alone relatively quiet.
