Messing around with some old school synth sounds recently, I really think the 101B sounds great for pop/rock type music:

I haven't played through this amp in ages, not quite aggressive enough for my tastes but I remembered a pop/rock song I used to play with my ex-drummer that the xtc's tones would be well suited for so I gave it a whirl. :)
It's the clip at the top...
I found a used one for a decent price and decided to try it out.
Please excuse my ratty looking pedalboard, I plan to upgrade to a better one at some point.
This pedal add's extra depth, 3D type effect. It's very pleasant and can be tweaked a bit by using the internal DIP switches...
Hey guys,
For those who are interested in what a 2203x sounds like with no pedal on the front end, here is a clip I made today of it.
Disclaimer:
This isn't anything heavy but more a mid tempo pop/rock affair lol.
'98 Fender Tele with full size bridge JB -> 2203x -> Splawn...
Yes I realize I'm stating the obvious.
You owe it to yourself to have differently constructed cabs when you first get an amp and are trying it out to see if it's a keeper or not. If you only have one cab and get a new amp and don't like it, it could just be that the cab you...
I heard that the pot shafts on an Edwards are a different diameter than what's on a Gibby, so I can't just buy any "standard" Les Paul replacement knobs I'm assuming. What are my options. :)
Will the floating knobs be robust enough for my basement?
It's a 2007 model I got for $1200, seller is in ny so it won't have to shipped very far just hope it gets here safely. :)
You mentioned you played a Larry Dino 939, just wondering how did you get a chance to play one just curious. They seem pretty hard to come by.
Last night I plugged into my 101B and noticed the background hum was louder than normal. The amp was still producing sound though across all the channels. I tried a different power outlet, different power cord and nothing changed.
When you flipped the amp off of standby, it would be...
Hey guys,
With the Mark V coming soon I thought I would bang out another IV clip for old time's sake.
No pedals/boosts or trickery on this one. Ibanez 1077XL (stock) straight into the IV, SM57 on V30 of a Roadking 4x12 cab. Solo was done on a Fender Tele with full size Duncan JB...
You can tell channel 2 sounds more grindy from this short vid I found. Channel 3 sounds like the familiar Mark lead tone everyone knows. :)

Hey guys,
Mesa Mark IV R2 channel, 1st half of the clip is straight into the amp except for a Boss RV3 pedal in the loop to add some delay/ambience. Graphic EQ is not engaged at all, and the pull fat on R2 is not engaged either. 2nd half of the video I step on an OCD pedal for a little juice...
Knowing your style Carl I would think a Quickrod or even Superstock might be more up your alley, but who knows you might dig the Nitro no way to know unless you try one.
The Nitro is the most modern voiced of their offerings, more low end and lower mids voicing...
