Wow. The guy in the cap sound typical recto sound I heard on stages till 00's... and hated it :) Pure over-bassy mess which is drown in the band mix...
Depends on the amp but I can imagine this combo as harsh city. Both have more of the scooped character with boosted highs and lows and works better mixed with more mid oriented speaker.
Chambered guitar can sounds good, but they don't work for heavier music as good as traditional full body or 9-hole relief. And they are prone to feedback much more.
Did you checked 'standard' Custom ? The are heavier than reissues but 498T pickups and thin neck profile make them perfect for...
I have VP4 ordered, mainly because form factor for gigging. I have FM9T and I realise it is really expensive delay pedal for me :) I doesn't expect the flexibility or footswitch option of FM9 but those delay/reverb are just fantastic. And noise gates ... best in the business.
I also had GX-100...
I watched Leon Todd's review of VHT Ultralead yesterday and what caught my ear was mention about stiffness of VHT which reminds him DSLs and I have to agree. The same with JVMs and Jubilees. Not fun amps to play at all. For example remped JVM sound superb on Ola Englund album but in person there...
Thanks for straighforward explantation.
It is always about compromises and if it makes selling/buying safer than why not.
But it is funny to read those 'stuck in 80s' folks' complaints even when they have no idea how those tech works ?
One of the cabs You can try it is Engl. Frontloaded with removable back. We have one in the rehearsal room so I did it. The same cab, the same spakers. The differences are not subtle at all, completely different bass and highs projection. FL has tighter lows and sharper, harsher highs and...
Are these settings for real use of the amp ? Bogners aren't brightest amp in the world but those treble/mid/presence setting seems to be excessive even for Bogner's.
The Reissue sounds much better for band mix, the OG will be burried with those settings. Maybe it is the reason they did not appear on many recordings... :devilish:
I had M75's and they very very polished, perfect for agressive Marshalls but too much for my Naylor or Bogner.
For 4x12 I using J75s on top and H75 for bottom in straight Bogner...outstanding cab.
Quickie with Wizard as I see You have some.
Two gain stage at the same time is also Naylor specific feature, together with presence control.
It has smooth and liquid sound with enough cut just like Superdrives from Ola's video.
I am from EU too :)
I listened the example and stock recto is set to worst example of muffled sound and on puprose to make his mod 'shine'. Multiwatt Red/modern channel with dimed presence knob sound much more like his modded recto than this. The modded one trimmed so much low end so it is...
It is laying there for some time. Price is not bad, it is like used Recto + 1200E for Hermansson modding but proper boost for 100E make it as good as modded one. What is the reasson to bought an recto and want to sound like different amp ? :)
Both are absolutely incredible but there is no device in the world to capture that unfortunatelly ? Just believe internet, it is in those electrons, You know maan...
Mission EV-2 fits me better for wahs, just old good Dunlop movement range. But for gigbag space seving I use Dunlop X 8, which is size of Crybaby Junior. For volume and mixing/blending parameters is bets EV-1, big, heavy but very precise working and feeling. I have some scenes with wah and...
It is very similar to Soldano X99 preamp but slighly more pissed off sounding. Also the power section is more 'intense' than SLO, on the same level as Wizard maybe even more. Soldano is more compressed and slightly easier to play.
Not the rarest amps on the Earth but I think I am the only one who had them in my country. Naylor is still here ?
Masotti Monster...this is rare amp worlwide I think. If Soldano X99 and Masotti X100m have a baby...
And Masotti X3M + Slave 100 is quite rare too. 3channel - 9 tube preamp (each...
