Check the MIDI settings on the 11R. I think you have to enable MIDI thru so that it echos MIDI commands to the out/thru port.
If you plug the foot controller directly into the MIDI in on the GM1, do the preset changes work?
Do you need the GM1 to change presets separately from the 11R? I find...

"If the rhythm clip is engaged in LEAD mode the diodes of the rhythm clip circuit have no affect for that point in the circuit grounds the signal.
What it does do is introduce a minimized path...
I remember reading about this somewhere. Even though the clean/rhythm channel's two diodes aren't part of the signal path for the Lead Channel, there's still some effect on tone or volume (of the lead channel) when rhythm clip is pulled. Perhaps they cause some change in voltage that affects the...
For a while it was the only effect I had in the loop of my amp. I gigged that way for a couple years, and it worked great. Even though you can only run one algorithm at a time, some of the algorithms contain dual effects. Still a bit of a limitation though, but I think they are great devices.
I've got a JB in the bridge of these two. That's my go-to pickup for my rock-oriented guitars. Then usually either a 59 or an Alnico Pro II in the neck.
I've got a V-1 Hellraiser, and a V-1 Blackjack ATX, both MIK. I paid less than $500 each for them, used. I think they're outstanding guitars, and I'd have no misgivings about getting another one. I preferred different pickups than the stock ones they came with, but that tends to be true of most...
Did you physically remove the clipping diodes from the circuit, or how are you not getting diodes in the lead channel? IIRC the lead channel has always-on diodes that aren't affected by the rhythm clipping switch.
I listen to probably 80% of the Tonetalk episodes. Some of the guests just end up being uninteresting to me. I more likely to watch most of the Ask Dave episodes.
I get a sense that Marc isn't the technical, gear-head type that a lot of us are. It seems like he's more there to coordinate and...
I'm typically Fractal for anything I leave the house for, whether rehearsal or gigs. I like the consistency, and at this point I'm as proficient at dialing it in as I am with my conventional amps. If I want amp-in-the-room I just disable cab modelling and plug into a power amp and 4x12. A lot...
I have a Ceriatone 2203, and it's everything I love about a 2203. I had them add a (switchable) buffered effects loop, 3-way bright switch, and NFB pot.
Curious to see what they come out with. My first tube amp was an X60B, which I think I got in 90 or 91. Great clean, but never really bonded with the overdrive channel. Had a v3 a decade ago or so, and it was pretty meh. I never had much interest in their other offerings, except maybe the Quad...
I view EQ in the loop as part of that last 5%. Everything about the pickups I use, pedals, amp, cabinet, etc., should get me 95% or more of where I want to be. I need to have the core tone from everything else, but I also recognize that we all have different tastes, and the tone stacks in our...
He was on fire in the early 80s. He started losing me gradually after Trilogy. At some point he started using his neck pickup and notch positions even more, and it seems like his playing lost a bit of intensity at the same time.
He's his band's worst singer though.
I don't like the idea of buying anything I can't pay for up front. Part of that from the hard lessons of terrible decisions when I was younger. With the 0% finance deals, you're still paying for the financing, whether you know it or not. It's built into the markup of whatever it is your buying...
I've bought from Antique Electronic Supply and Tube Depot mostly. I lean towards the Tungsol EL34B and EH EL34 for CP. Actually liked the Mullard reissue EL34 as well. I got a few pair of the Mesa-branded NOS Siemans EL34 too before they got crazy expensive, and those were direct from Mesa.
For sure. They may not sound identical to their conventional counterparts, but to me that doesn't mean they don't sound as good. I'm just looking for a canvas to do my own thing. It's not competing against anything except my own tastes, and a huge portion of that lands on my ears and my hands...
Like others have said, they're not going to be identical to their namesakes. I don't think different equates to inferior though. I've played plenty of standalone tube heads that I didn't think sounded as good as my modular setup. If I had only one tube-based rig, it'd probably be a pair of...
I wonder if this is a Synchrony decision, or GC/MF. With the 0% financing stuff, the merchant is usually covering the points on the back end. The banks weren't the ones carrying it.
I just saw a demo of a deep fake voice call, impersonating a help desk manager, telling people there'd been a breach and that they needed to log in and reset their password using the corresponding link that was texted to them. It sounded exactly like her, and made convincing reference to several...
Having a studio doesn't make you an engineer, and having a DAW doesn't make you a producer. It's almost never about digital, it's about people not knowing how to run their gear.
