Just to add that listening to players who soft pick all the time really sets my teeth on edge. I can’t explain it, but I have a really visceral reaction to it and have to turn it off / walk away. Same as people whispering. Can’t stand it.
Really hoping the PMM turns up on time and it’s every bit as good as expected. Keeping the fingers crossed for you and looking forward to hearing some clips….hopefully in the not too distant. ?
How different people run with the same drum track would be cool to see / hear. I’m a sloppy player and won’t be impressing anyone, but it’s always great to see/hear better players at work - partly because it inspires me to up my game and secondly to hear some of the nice kit people on here own...
Not sure if someone’s mentioned him already, but Bonamassa seems to be using a mix of Jubilees, Fenders and a Dumble. Haven’t seen him live, but I imagine the rig sounds immense in person.
Thanks for the info on the Poundcake guys - great to know. @Yehuda sent me down the Steavens rabbit hole when he posted about his 25th - really great sounding amps - but I couldn’t find out much about how the Poundcake varied over the years. Really good to hear from those who have first hand...
Setting tonality aside, for me it’s having an amp that inspires you to play differently / different things and an amp that allows the character of the guitar to shine through even when it’s being driven
Where are you based? I bought a Mark IV as a chassis and had a headshell built by Craft Speaker Cabs in Doncaster, UK. It’s spot on. They’re on Reverb.
For me it was Rev F Triple, then MultiWatt Triple, then Rev F Dual then Rev G Dual. It was very close between the two Triples, though - I’d be very happy with either.
