I have a Captor, and to my ears I don't notice any tone suck. My biggest gripe is that it's a fixed dB reduction, yet in most cases it's really not a big deal at home.
Those transformers look very similar to the ones on my MIC handwired Jet City 2204 . . . that I paid $900 for brand new fwiw
Edit: It looks like a listing typo. $1,490 isn't that bad, and the quality of the chassis/components/wiring certainly look better than mine, so it might not be a bad deal...
That was my original thought. I think dealing with the rivets will be the most frustrating part. I hope it's not bad enough that the board needs to be replaced, but won't be able to tell until I can get the board out and the carbon cleaned off, then do some continuity testing.
Check your thumbnail and where the red play button sits. Hides your left hand almost completely, and makes your right hand look . . . well . . . not good.
Picked up an Ultra Plus for an absurd prce of FREE yesterday :p, but it does not have sound (was forwarned prior to receiving it). Upon brief inspection inside the amp, looks like a power tube arced on the socket. I can remove the impedance and pre-out boards, but the power tube board looks...
If it's a simple as it looks and no blown transformers, I should have it running in a couple days. May have to dig out my audio probe but I hope it's not that bad. Going to de-oxit all the knobs and jacks too because I'm sure they're tarnished. All the fuses are still check out as good, but one...
I really haven't browsed my local Craigslist for a few years, but every now and then I'll hop on and see the same ol' listings. Today found an ad for a Peavey Ultra Plus. Hardly ever see those around anymore. Then I noticed the ad stated FREE. Quickly emailed the guy and asked where he wanted...
Short answer:
one Pro to an AR-15 with a less than 16" barrel/SBR/Pistol is it's slightly lighter weight (potentially) and you gain more manuverability around corners. Shorter barrel length really has zero to do with being able to more easily conceal, despite what the government thinks.
Cons...
It is, but in my case living in one state and traveling to another state for work every day (I live on the border), you're supposed to notify the ATF every time you plan on transporting your SBR across state lines. Braces were also great for travelling firearms instructors in that regard. I have...
I think Rabea just exited Chapman within the last week or so. Not sure if its from fallout with the Chapman brand/Rob with its other business dealings, or Rabea is just looking to go a different direction. But I agree with your point.
Slightly spinning this. I have a hard time taking any YouTuber gear reviews seriously when I believe most if not all of their content sounds the same, regardless of how varied the gear is.
Ola, Fluff, Hunter, Pete Thorn, Lasse Lammert - the worst as far as I'm concerned as all of his 'reamp'...
Bought one for my son about a month ago. Dropped some EMGs in it that I've had lying around for years. Pretty solid guitar for the price. Stock pickups are not bad either, but he's heavy into Metallica so this was a good move.
Absolutely agree. Even though I'm armchair quarterbacking it, IMO his improv style peaked in the mid 90's right before he became George Roids. Since then it's mostly been the same patterns and phrasings over and over again, but with less accuracy as time goes on. Still, though, on his worst day...
