It has basically the same amount of gain as the BE channel of a BE100. HBE channel is an added preamp tube for more gain.

Does the band have a history of cancelling gigs? Is the venue actually going to blacklist them, or is it suggested? Is it worth keeping a gig at that venue? Can't really give a solid piece of advice without a little more context, but the quick answer is I'd say don't worry about the gig.

Always wanted the 5212RC. Very unique compared to most of the other Jet City amps as it's clean and crunch versus crunch and overdrive. With the Hod Mod you basically turn it into the Overdrive channel - very cool!
