Ugg, my Mom is in hospice on the 'natural' drug dementia. I don't want that for me. I just hope I can make the flight to Switzerland or wherever it is that you can go when you choose...and painless.

Considering the timing, I wonder if it was assisted? Sometimes it's easier/less painful that way and if it's inevitable soon enough...why not?

I use either Oxford or Stewmac nitro and the amount of work to go from just a quick polish to perfectly flat and glossy af is a shit ton of wet-sanding, polishing and buffing (and risking burning thru). I've done it only once on a full body (done a few headstocks) and it was an early job that...

Looks great! I’m waiting for the weather to clear coat a body. It will be months. I would prob have all sorts of fog if I did it now. And you have a much better setup for spraying. I hang mine from a string loop from the garage door opener. Fan at garage door to pull out fumes. I have a mask tho.

Yep, all of that was what I was getting at. If we can't agree on the Rosewood vs Mahogany acoustic guitars (otherwise made identical and lots of examples/samples not just two), which I know sound different and consistently so, then we can't even get to the solidbody discussion. It makes me doubt...

Then something is wrong with the measurements. The differences between Rosewood back and sides vs Mahogany in acoustic guitars are clear and consistent. If we can't even agree on that then we just can't proceed to electrics. We just disagree.

SRV didn’t hang it low, maybe medium. I think he raised it over the years. Jimi hung it medium or medium high and so did EVH. Neither ever looked like a dork to me. Hanging it too low looks dorky to me. It has a ‘not-comfortable-in-my-own-skin’ vibe. Jimi and EVH appeared to hang it for playing...

The thing about all the scientific evidence is that it doesn’t agree with my ears/experience. I’m an engineer so I tend to trust the science more than some but my ears just keep pummeling my brain with a different answer. Maybe it’s from playing acoustic guitars that are otherwise built...
