Did you have to enlarge the screw holes on the socket? Those things sometimes have tiny holes and even a #6 won't fit. And those screws look bigger than #4.
One easy mod for a switch is to take those connections that are normally connected and then shrink-wrapped (i.e. the wires that connect the two coils) and connect them to each other. It doesn't cut the output by much and just gives you a slightly different, more scooped tone. So in that mod you...
This applies to me for sure. I hated hair/glam metal and the 90s was a time I was finding lots of new music to go along with the few new-ish metal bands I was into like Pantera and Extreme.
But it wasn’t all grunge. I didn’t like Nirvana at the time and Pearl Jam lasted about as long as...
Well since this is a hypothetical I'll take a 1959 Sunburst Les Paul Standard and a 1969 Marshall Super Lead full stack. I don't really need the load box/rack/SS amp because I'm on a deserted island. But I'll want effects so yeah give me the load box/rack/SS amp too.
Oh hell yeah that kicks ass. I like all the stuff from the neighborhoods that surround the old/tired-blues neighborhood. I just got to a point that I can't stand boring regurgitated old themes. If it sounds new I'm good.
This band was not a blues band but they were the best band of that Cocoa Beach area. Bill Marsh on guitar and a total badass. This was Anna Delgado's band and every player was great at their role. I timestamped it to a guitar solo. I've always wanted one of those custom Hamers he plays (and he...
This guy Bird Dog lived just up the road from me when I lived in Oviedo, FL. He was the local guitar/amp tech with a tiny music store. He was my amp tech and gateway to amp modding. When I moved away I gave him all sorts of stuff I didn't want to move like old boatanchor Peavey power amps that...
I used to go see these guys on the regular, in this very club, right around this time. Was always hot af in there. Tall guitar/singer was Dave Feister and it was kind of his gig, he usually did almost all the singing. Short guitar player was Austin Pettit who went on to play in some other killer...
The way they attack the strings sounds like a piano sometimes. And Rodrigo sounds like three guitars at once, like counterpoint plus a pedal tone or something. Incredible.
From the back those look similar to the switches in Fenders except the tabs come out of the back. And the Fenders are toggle switches. Hard to tell if this would fit.
