Hmmmm...who could the fifth be? It's like it's right on the tip of my tongue but I just cant think of who it could be. He would have to be an ace player to hang with those four.
I haven't but I've heard he's good. I actually started on my Dad's gut-string and learned Bouree before I learned Sweet Home Alabama. But I'm a lefty that plays righty and my right hand sucks.
Picking nits here but the bias supply is just AC voltage (which swings positive and negative). It's the orientation of the diode and bias filter caps that makes it a negative voltage.
Those top classical players right hands are sick! I can fingerstyle and even Travis-pick a little but some of these classical players are on robot-perfection level.
And remember some of our favorite players 'technically' didn't know this stuff. Yet in some ways they did. Everybody has a different method.
I've thought for a while now that those jazz cats...they know too much. They've gone over the cliff and have so much knowledge that their music is...
Billy Gibbons
Jimi Hendrix
Robin Trower
Edward Van Halen
Eric Johnson
Dang, with those influences I should be better.🤣
EDIT: and a shout for Django Reinhardt. His musical style doesn't make it's way into mine but the way he slides around definitely changed the way I play.
Yep, totally can see that.
When people ask about building partscasters I always say build it only if you want to build it. Don’t build it to have it…go buy it if you just want to own it.
That said, I build and mod/rebuild stuff because I like doing this kind of stuff. I would probably just buy...
Cowboy chord shapes. We all slide the E shape and A shape all the time. And same with the D shape on the top three (unwound) strings.
Make a cowboy C. Then using the highest note up the fretboard in that C chord, make an A shape (the second letter in CAGED). You just made another C chord.
Do...
Saw him play with Guthrie Trapp and the trio also with his keyboard player on a B3 at The Underdog. Holy shit that dude gets a tone. 335 straight into a Deluxe Reverb cranked up to the sweet spot.
To add to what @Chris6870 said about pentatonics and modes.
The major pentatonic is the...
Got the parts. The tuners on a Floyd interfere with my picking so I’m using the Gotoh GE1996T. Recessed. But the Gotoh locking nuts aren’t available with a 10” radius so I’m using the Floyd Rose R9 nut with truss rod groove.
The neck is a Warmoth with their 10”-14” compound radius. Which will...
Some people use a slightly simplified CAGED since the A and G shape are similar/connected and same with the C and D shapes.
Here's a 10 minute explanation of that. This is just how one guy organically came up with his 'AED system'.
And you really have to USE it for it to really become...
