    Mesa Mark V video

Thanks dudes!! I think this shirt was a 2022 tour shirt. Super comfy haha. Nice! I actually just returned a V35 because the el84s make it too squishy feeling to feel like a mark. The JP is great, too. Tried getting one earlier this year from GC but it had some kinda noise issue that the techs...

Belated NAD (JSX) new mic'd video added

Yeah nice! For sure a super different anal from the VTM. By the time I got mine, I’d already gotten my first 6505 212 combo and moved away from the JSX kinda tone.

Will poking around from time to time! I don’t spend much time on RT these days, but I forgot how many dudes are still around here from the old days.

Hell yeah dude!! JSX was my dream amp all through college but I was too poor to get one. Eventually joined a band where the other guitar player had one and I got to play it all the time.

Poll - Best Version Of The 5150 Series Amps?

I prefer the combo to the head. The OG head has a massive low end and a ton of aggression, but that low end is overpowering and loose, IMO. The 5152 fixes that, but loses some of that aggression. The combo sits in between. Retains some of the aggression, but has a much tighter and well defined...

    NAD - Mesa Mark V

Thanks for checking it out dudes! I’ve had 3 IVs, a VII, and 3 JP’s in addition to the V25 and V I had 10-ish years ago, and so far this has been the best one. Really impressed this time around!

    NAD - Mesa Mark V

I have talked so much shit about this amp for the last 10 years lol. I owned one for about 6 months in 2015 after selling my beloved Mark V25 for a 90 watt version, and just struggled with that amp the whole time. I am attributing it a lot to speakers. Pretty much none of the Marks I've had...

    NCD. Avatar

Nice. I've had a handful of Avatar cabs over the years, and they all sound great. Their big Orange based 212 is awesome.

The Peavey 6505+ output is really more like 80 or 90 watts rather that 120 yea or nay ?

I definitely did not. Either way, not going back to the Peaveys at this point, so meh.

The Peavey 6505+ output is really more like 80 or 90 watts rather that 120 yea or nay ?

I did a bias mod on my old 5150 BL and ended up taking it out because I preferred the amp without it. Super easy to do and reverse. Took about 15 min each way. Make sure you check your voltages. These amps have a resistor that drains the caps, but it can take a few minutes, so just check it...

Best OD for the blue channel on a 5153?

I like the Waza SD-1 a lot. I am not much of an OD fan in general, but of the handful I've tried, this one on the custom setting has been better. Less of a low cut than I typically hear with ODs. I'm using the 100S.

Anyone running a Mesa Mark V 25 head?

The V25 was my first Mark series, and I absolutely loved it, but I needed band level volumes, and it does not do band level volumes well. I sold it for a 90 watt, and regretted it.

New V30s sound pretty good - John Browne YT vid

All the V30 stuff has been really wild. I hated V30s for years. I got a Mesa cab in 2022, and it has sounded better than any other cab I've had. Couple months ago, I grabbed a 2004 Mesa cab with speakers from the "golden era" time period, and it sounds great. The feel and sound are pretty...

Name the 4 or 5 guitarists that most informs your playing

Hetfield Dimebag Mark Morton Vogg Damn, 5 is tough. Lots of guys that I respect their playing these days, and I maybe write riffs somewhat similarly, but I don't think I listened to them much in my formative years to consider them influences.

Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, and Meshuggah - TONIGHT IN TAMPA! Be there, or be square!

We were on the floor toward the back, right side near the stairs to get to the merch. I love Cannibal Corpse, and see them a lot. They sounded like they usually do.

NAD: Mesa Mark VII - the best?

Drew is playing with 2 guitars. I played mine on stage and never had issues cutting. Not sure I've seen anyone complain about this, but for sure the amp can be set so many ways, I could see it happening.
