I think Boggy Depot was an XTC and a few other amps blended in, I remember seeing an SLO in studio/tour pics. I think the Uber came out in the early 00’s, I’ve got a Rev2 serial 220 and the transformer is dated 2002. I think first album he used an Uber on was Black Gives Way To Blue.
Ummm, I ordered "Marshall Style Large Box", why would I have to specify anything else? I order the same thing from other builders and everything lines up perfectly. Are there full sized Marshall amp chassis' that have shorter faceplates to accommodate lip at the bottom of the front cutout? Cause...
I’ve ordered a few head shells and speaker cabs from Mojotone in the past, everything was top notch. Tried using Guitar Cabinets Direct for a change and was not impressed. I ordered a pretty standard Marshall style headshell, it looks great but craftsmanship isn’t the best. There’s a small lip...
I‘m building an amp loosely based on the Ceriatone Molecular layout with a bunch of small tweaks/changes. One of them is the elimination of the low input jack. I’m using a small 50w chassis from valvestorm, I’m using 3 of the 4 input jacks for other knobs/switches. I’m stuck on how to eliminate...
I have an old rear loaded one and a newer front loaded one. I tried the Creambacks in the front loaded one. Couldn’t try them in the rear loaded cause that’s 8 ohms and the front loaded is 16 ohms. No experience with Redbacks but I’ve heard those have a smoother top end and sound pretty thick.
I swapped out the T-75’s in my front loaded Ubercab for Creamback H75’s. Couldn’t pull the Creambacks out fast enough. Don’t know if it was the cab or the speakers but they just sounded harsh and shrill, all top end and no body. I put them in a Mojotone 4x12 with two V30’s and they sound much...
Tusq is awesome, I’ve replaced a few Les Paul nuts with their precut replacements. String spacing was a dead on match for the stock nut. Just had to file the bottom down evenly to get the height to match. Old nut comes out easy too. Just used a razor to gently cut the clear coat so it wouldn’t...
Celestion Alnico Cream mixed with Greebacks sounds like a weird combo for rock/metal but it sounds amazing. I put two of each in an old 1960a and it’s the best sounding cab at my jam spot. We’ve got 10 other 4x12’s, all sorts of Bogners, Marshall’s, Framus, etc with all sorts of speakers and...
It was $3284 for the 100w version. There’s a 150w model, I think that was $200 more. Sweetwater rep had me give him a credit and to put on file for the preorder, he said once the amps in stock and ready to ship he’ll call me to verify shipping and payment.
Can’t wait! Put my preorder in through Sweetwater already, rep said it should ship to me sometime in April. I’ve got an old Rev2 Uber that’s absolutely crushing, but it does have a few downfalls; the loop sucks, pretty sure it’s line level cause I get a big volume drop when I turn on effects in...
Maybe? I’m still a beginner/amateur when it comes to this stuff haha. From my understanding, instead of being a low pass filter in the negative feedback loop, the presence is a weird RLC circuit that uses an inductor to dump certain midrange frequencies to ground while still letting highs and...
The Uber is the Bogner amp that’s got the strangest eq. The presence circuit uses an inductor that makes it behave so strangely compared to most other amps. Most of the other Bogners I’ve owned or played have a tone stack that behaves more like a Marshall, some of the frequencies might be a...
Never played VH4 but I used to have a Herbert and I’ve had a ton of Bogners over the years. The 3534 will definitely have a little more raw and open tone. The Herbert I had was way too smooth and polished sounding, all the Bogners I’ve had since then were definitely more aggressive sounding. I’d...
I built one a few years back, fun amp to play through and tinker with. Not the easiest build if it’s your first one, but not impossible. Tons of mods and changes you can do to it, there’s a lot of good threads on this site about that. I second that Nik is great to work with. I’ve ordered a bunch...
That’s awesome! I got a Strat from Guitarwacky a few years ago, that guy does some of the coolest relic/refinishes around! I tried to get him to do custom work but at the time he said he wasn’t doing work on anything except the guitars he sells.
Pedalpython is great if you already have all the cables you’re going to use and just need something to keep them together. BTPA is the place to go if you want to have a custom snake made, they can make just about anything. They can make custom cables with whatever jack/ends you need at the whole...
@napalmdeath totally! I’ve been a lurker on a ton of forums for years, don’t really have much of a reputation anywhere to really buy and sell in classifieds, same for FB groups. So now I gotta start over and find a new avenue to sell stuff.
@Bossman415 this was just a few months ago in November, so after Etsy bought them. There is 0 customer service now. No phone to call, just an automated bot to message, then, if the bot can’t answer your question it forwards it to a real person that will contact you within 5 days. Awesome...
