Great thread / info - thanks all. I guess the only piece we’re missing is how the MK I stacks up to the MK II/III. I think @DanTravis62 might have played a MK I and maybe a MK II or III….? I know @SBlue had a MK I at some point.
Also interested to hear how the amp changed from MK I to MK II to MK III. I noticed the different control layouts but would be interested in any tonal differences - eg: brighter / darker, more / less compression, more / less gain etc
Yep, I’ve just a lot less cash to spend on what (for me) is a hobby at the end of the day. Plenty of amps and guitars I’d love to own, but none I need to own - not when there are more pressing things I need to spend my money on. Hopefully things will improve soon. And I’m over in the UK - gear’s...
Probably not much use as I haven’t played a JP2C or a Herbert, but I own a VH4 and a Mark IV so can comment more generally on Mark vs Diezel. Very different amps - the VH4 is stiffer, has loads of gain but is less liquid. I find the Mark IV to cut better and it has a more focussed, percussive...
Out of interest, how many people are you guys aware of on the waiting list right now? Appreciate that not everyone on the list is going to be a RigTalk member or known to one, but would be interested in how many people you collectively know who are waiting
Was really surprised he had to dime the Deep. I’ve never felt the need to crank the Deep on my VH4 and low end is definitely not lacking! My VH4 is only a few years old so I’m assuming its the same revision as the one in the video, but who knows. Maybe they’ve changed it a bit since.
Just checked my emails. So last I heard the delay was because Henric needed to get various reg approvals in order to sell to the public, but the project was still a go - just taking time. That was well over a year ago, so things have no doubt moved on since then.
I might be wrong, but I thought he’d put it on hold (or it’s just taking ages) due to all the regulatory red tape in Euro land. I might well be misspeaking here, so don’t quote me on that.
A friend of mine saw them and Smashing Pumpkims the other weekend. He also said Weezer sounded great and even though he doesn’t normally listen to them, he really enjoyed their set
