I will watch the video later, but I think the traditional guitar star was taken down by the decline of guitar in popular music. That’s all.
And I think a lot of that was due to rock losing its rebellious side and mystery.
I do both, I try to be well rounded. I don’t play in a band, just no time with my work to commit to it. But when I play it’s about 50/50 rhythm and lead. I don’t really think about it, I just enjoy both.
Yep, pretty cool. Real players. I always thought the tape pr method they used didn't capture Bass in these old clips. It is cool stuff, just the bass is missing.

Congrats, I got a Mk VII last year and still love it, I primarily switch between the IIC+ on channel 3 and the VII on channel 2. I agree on the VII mode it sounds great and the bass knob is even a bit useable.
Maybe people trying to take advantage and using that as cover.
