The Natas is a killer amp, but it’s definitely not for everyone. It has a “sound” and can be a bit finicky with pickups. It’s not like amps like EVH’s for example that have a homogenizing affect on everything you plug in to it. Not hating on the EVH since I have a stealth and really dig it, but...
For me I’d say my typical volume is around 80. At that point it still sounds good and I can play and write for extended periods without issue.
105db is pretty darn loud for regular extended playing. Particularly if you are in an untreated room with reflections bouncing all around. My room is a...
I read DHIADW took a similar approach regarding mic placement: 2 x 57’s with one placed in a bright spot (not sure if it was dead center or a little off) and the other in a darker spot.
I find the 2dbb neck and bridge to work extremely well together. Imo it doesn’t come off as feeling weaker when you switch to the neck. If you have it set too low then maybe, but you can also have it too high so it sounds louder and thicker compare to the bridge. In other words, there isn’t...
You might have a feedback loop causing noise, though, I would expect that to sound more high pitched than just hiss. Still worth troubleshooting though. I’d open up the Focusrite mixer software and mess with the routing. Depending on what its default setting is you could have more going to the...
I'd probably have to say Chaos A.D. That's the album that got me into them. I have a lot of fond memories of my early band days linked to that album - jamming parts of those songs at band practice and the drummers I knew all trying to play the intro to Territory. Fun times. After that, it would...
It sounds great with my other cabs too, but the matching cab is overall my favorite. However, now it has me wondering what a 4x12 must sound like with those speakers and the Grace hahaha.
Nice! I’m not familiar with the Dr Z, but yeah the Grace has a huge gain sweep. You can really take advantage of it using the guitar’s volume and having the headroom set halfway or lower.
I've had the Carsten Grace amp for a little while now and have been really digging it. I finally broke down and grabbed the matching 2x12 cab with the Weber Ceramic Blue Dog 100w and Celestion Alnico Cream speakers. That amp really does sound great with that cab & speakers.
Here's a quick clip...
I’m also in the camp that prefers the Stealth’s red channel over the blue for metal rhythms. The blue isn’t quite there on its own. Then I find the blue gets too mid focused once boosted. Maybe I need to find the right boost, but I don’t get hung up on it since the red channel gets me where I...
