Guitar country of origin: Does it matter?

For those of us alive in the 1970s, we remember the junk our fellow Americans were producing, whether that be guitars, electronics or automobiles, which opened the door for Japan to walk in. Dismissive “patriots” called it Jap crap, now their sites are set on China and India.

New Satch Vai - pretty cool

I attended the G4 guitar camp, with Satch, Vai and Eric Johnson. Steve was the most likable and forthright of the group by a large margin, and he was funny. He has a live shtick that is nothing like his true personality. Satch was pretentious, and Eric a bit detached/aloof. Oh, and that song...

Sammy Hagar Thank you Goodnight - Eddie tribute

I know Sammy likes playing with Joe because he’s a reliable professional, but he’s a poor choice for this type of venture, everything sounds like Satch. Also, dwelling on EVH at this point is boarding on weird. You want to play a few of the songs, okay. Touring the catalog, or interpreting...

    How Often do You Play?

Once upon a time, 6-10 hours a day. Now about that much a week. Unless I have to learn a new song for the band, I can play our setlist in my sleep, being that we’ve been together thirty-three years.

Reverb bought by Fender parent company

Most non-local transactions will require a company like PayPal, which again has all your data. I live right outside NYC, so it’s easier for me to do local deals than a person in Montana. I understand why they need eBay and Reverb, the latter of which I’ve never sold on.
