UPS left an 8 foot roll of carpet on my porch with an address label for a girl in DC. I'm in PA. I called and they told me to make an account and go online and fill out a bunch of forms. No, how bout you come pick it up? Sat there for two weeks. I called Crate and Barrel where it came from and...
Check to see if all power tubes are hot when this happens. Had a similar issue where the pins on the power tube socket were loose. Seems some tubes have fatter pins that stretch the sockets, then if you go to a tube with narrower pins they are too loose and lose connetion. My amp would lose it's...
I had a 90's Charvel Fusion that was killer. If you can find a "Charvette" they were the budget Fusion that was short scale and were a great modding platform.
I bought a Mark IVa from GC used for pretty cheap. Came in a tour case and looked like it was rode HARD and put away wet. Sent it in to Boogie. They overhauled it (told them do whatever it needs) had it back in a month and it was a little under $400 less shipping and tubes. I ended up selling it...
If you need reverb, dont buy an amp based on that, just get a pedal. For practice I have a Zoom ms50 in the loop of Soldano mini. Has a bunch of reverbs, delays, phaser, flange whatever you want.Works great.
I never found a combo to sound as good as a head/cab. I tried plenty. Combos will have an open back which is usually not ideal for any type of rock/metal. Also they are heavier and usually cost more. The Fender Bassbreaker is one combo I did like, but again it was close to 50lbs.
I had an HT5. It was pretty Meh. Check out the mini Soldano. That with a few pedals and a little 1x12 is what I'm rocking for a bedroom amp. Sound really good.
Did they fix the noise? I waited over a year for one I had on order and returned it in 3 days due to the noise level on the red channel. One of my biggest gear related disappointments.
I had an old 100 watt Marshall Super Lead, bone stock. Even cranked to ear splitting volume that thing was clean as a whistle. No where near the gain of even a JCM 800. I was so bummed I sold it. That's probably what we're hearing here.
Its a crap shoot. I've won big, and got some clunkers. Best case, you can find stuff under priced .Worst case is I'm out an hour ride back and forth to dump it off at my local store and get a refund.
Line 6 cabs are the worst. I had a POD Go for a minute and also a Stomp. Free IR's improved the tones but at the end of the day the tones are just not there for me. Fractal tones are so much better straight out of the box. You can gig with a Fractal factory preset no problem.
I love those old Kramers. But the prices are stupid. Unless you need the old school mojo,You can build a comparable guitar for much less. They were nothing more than parts guitars assembled in a factory in NJ back in the day. The newer Pacer with a few upgrades will get you there or buy a...
Hell yea, I just picked up this JS32 dinky archtop for a beater/shredder for 3 and change and its pretty killerhttps://www.jacksonguitars.com/en-US/body-shape/dinky/js-series-dinky-arch-top-js32-dka/2910238552.html
