I picked this up recently in lieu of waiting for the Friedman Jose to hit. It sounds phenomenal, as you might expect, but I'm more of an "oodles of gain"-type of guy, and this is firmly in the hard rock camp unless boosted.
Mod-wise, it's virtually identical to the one in the Pete Thorn video...
I can see why someone expecting classic Marshall tones wouldn't like it (though Channel A can get pretty close), but I'm extremely pleased with it for what I paid.
That must be it. The thing is apocalyptically loud (I'm attenuating it), so I don't imagine too many people get a chance to turn it up past 1 on the master.
I was reliably told by the Internet that these were irredeemable piles of donkey dung. But I just grabbed one for super cheap, cranked up the master, slammed the front end with a Mr. Mansfield preamp, and had instant crushing thrash tones on Channel B. Am I doing this wrong? Do I have to turn in...
Head is in fantastic condition and works as it should. The only very minor issue is that the standby switch is a little loose, something that should be an easy fix for anyone with a modicum of repair knowledge. Includes the original box and foot switch.

I have two of these that I bought to shoot out against the AV75s. I prefer the 75s, so I'm moving these along at a nice, low price for someone else to try. They're 8 ohms and in basically new condition.
$70 each shipped Con US or $120 for the pair.
