Mitch Mitchell for sure.
Matt Cameron doesn't get the hype I think he deserves.
Jon Theodore is relatively unknown and/or an afterthought for most people. He (to me) is the true "heir apparent" to John Bonhman, but in a much proggier setting. Those first three The Mars Volta albums killed, and...
Highly highly highly recommend DiMarzio Area neck pickups. I just did a guitar with a Duncan TB-4 bridge pickup and DiMarzio Area 67 and 58 in the middle and neck respectively. All 250K pots. Phenomenal tones and balance across the pup positions. The DiMarzios are the only noiseless pickups I’ve...
Sig:X might be my favorite of the entire Fryette lineup, past and present. Right there with the CLX. Such an incredibly versatile amp without feeling like there are any compromises. I remember when I bought my Sig:X, the other amp in heavy consideration was a Bogner Ecstasy 101B.
To me the...
I’ll buy at market rate when the practicality of the piece of gear really makes me think it will be used and will make it easier for me to play/do more.
Otherwise, if I see something that i covet and feel 100% confident that I’ll be able to unload it with no lost money, then I’m apt to pull...
And it rocks! I’m thinking probably early ‘84 due to the S serial number and vertical inputs. There are two holes in the back… I’m guessing they were an effects loop. Haven’t had the circuit checked for mods. Also has an unvented T3760 G12T-75. Black label with a white stripe through it...
I love Warmoth. But gotta say their website redesign has probably lost them a ton of sales. It's SO SLOW and you can no longer search in stock products across the board - you have to dial in on whichever model then see what they have in stock. And did I mention, it's SLOW?
Yeah. I know this issue. $25 fix: Behringer HD400.
I have this issue with my Helix and Power Station when I go 4cm with a real amp then load with the power station back into the Helix.
Put the HD400 between the JVM and the Helix and I think you’ll be set.
Probably for most people. While the guitar wasn't for me, I spec'ed it as if it were. I almost never use the middle position alone, but I use the 2 and 4 positions pretty heavily. I also read a review that strongly suggested using the 67 in the middle and the 58 in the neck, so I went with it. I...
I just did a partscaster for a very good friend of mine. He wanted noiseless single coils to go with a humbucker bridge.
I did a bunch of research, and decided to do the rare thing of mixing pickup brands:
Neck: DiMarzio Area 58
Middle: DiMarzio Area 67
Bridge: Seymour Duncan TB-4 (sue me...
Just to note: I don't think the tremolo applies. Trem-O-Verb pricing is also 2-3x where it was five years ago. Hell, I bought a Trem-O-Verb head on eBay in 2014 for $700 shipped.
I believe Buckethead used the X2N pretty extensively. His live tones from my experience has always been pretty awesome... but he was using his Les Paul for those gigs... and I'm not sure what he has in those.
I think this is a good deal?

Edit: they've dropped the price to $3500. It's a 60W 1x12 combo without EQ. C+. Looks like with a CL80 speaker.
I got a Tribute G&L ASAT with AlNiCo pickups (not MFD). Great sounds out of it especially for the price, plus some incidental flaming on the maple neck.
I've always wondered though if you could use a Tele pickup without the Tele bridge/plate and still get the same sound. Would love to build a...
