That solo is really interesting, in retrospect.
So much of it is licks from Paganini’s 24 Caprices.
No one was doing that in ‘83.
It’s still pretty breathtaking in its execution.
Meh.
It’s a pointless comparison.
Yngwie was Yngwie.
However, I won’t lie; it was shocking as hell to see Yngwie play that shit live. I saw him in late ‘84(/early ‘85?) at the Kabuki Theater in S.F., before “Marching Out” was released, and “Rising Force” was still a Japan only import.

I’ve had the Snakeskin for 2 1/2 years. I love the Duncan 1/4 pounder at the neck. The Duncan RTM at the bridge is super hot. But, it has a nice eq to it. And the neck is just Charvel goodness.
Obviously, I’m saying go with the snakeskin one.
I like mine. However, I use it out in front of the Bogner Helios(100w) when I’ve got it running in 70s mode, with not too much preamp gain. It feels like the “effect” of the Solodallas goes away the higher the preamp gain in the amp gets.
jmho

I’m currently running my m100 into x2 KSR 2x12(oversized), for my Ibanez 7-string. I’m not dialing it in to be super-tight/modern, but it’s ferocious sounding. I use either a Friedman Buxom boost, a Revv Tilt boost, or a Precision drive to tighten it up a little.(this is on Ch.1)
The clean...
My #1 Rivera M100, I purchased from a smoker.
It took 6 months, a garage quarantine, and bottles of febreeze, to get rid of the stench in the furry cabinet covering.
I’m not going to disagree.
I had an el-34/100w SLX.
It was the hot rodded Marshall I’d always wanted.
The coolest tone I ever got out of it, was Blackmore’s “Made In Japan” tone.
Holy crap. It sounded fantastic.
But, that was the SLX completely dimed, and the preamp and sensitivity rolled back...
