The wires connecting the effects loop board to the main board need to be shielded. I replaced mine with a single 2 conductor plus shield coax cable. I wish I did it years ago. Same with replacing the 500k lead master linear taper pot with a log/audio taper pot. Another useful mod is to replace...
It's a great concept. The amp has 11 relays to change various components. The 5 ways switch has preset combinations. Low gain, has less tubes/gain stages, high gain has more/gain stages. The EQ has 5 relays switching the components. You'd have to treat each mode as a different amp. They should...
^ I did that. It didn't help manage the volume or sound any better or worse. Still good to know in case you have a bad tube. Pull the pair, change impedance and keep rocking.
The only reason I'd buy that is to resell the amp and one cab. As much as I like albums recorded with a Rectifier, I can't stand playing one. The 3 ch triple I had was the worst amp choice I have ever made. I tried everything to make it sound good. I'd rather have the Bandit.
I have had 7 crybabys in various forms. The best deal is the 535q, found under $50 all the time. SMD? Sure. Who cares? The remaining mods can still be done on it.
FWIW, there are many through hole dunlops still in production. Just find the cheapest and go to town. Most basic wahs are the same...
I have a few guitars with SD JBs, they are my go to. Rock to metal.
My ec401 came with emg het set. I don't like them at all. I had 81/85 years ago, not my favorite either.
I also have a couple guitars with fishman moderns. I like the passive voice best. The single coil mode is good too...
Dunlop Crybaby From Hell, buffer, lots of knobs to tweak, boost.
Digitech XP100, does more than other Whammys, tuner, gate, volume, wah, auto wah, envelope filter.
Proco BRAT, has both hard and soft clipping, a few simple mods and you get OD through fuzz. This spot could be any number of OD or...
I had the slant. It was the best all around cab I've owned. I traded a 1936 and some cash. I liked my Mesa cab better but I should never have traded it off.
My 2004 Stiletto slant is 29 3/16" high box only (not including corner protectors).
With casters 33 3/16". Feet are 3/4".
Handles and jack plate are not inset.
The new Ibanez PTEQ looks great and is cheap.
I like the old Boss EQ20, can save settings and toggle between 2 on the fly.
I had the MXR M108, I didn't like it as much. I want the 800hz.
Source Audio has countless fans.
