DLR Show- So much better than the Hagar/ VH show

Ha! In a world of custom pickups, I love that Al is getting it done with a simple ol' JB.. Dave's run is coming to an end, vocals just can't do it anymore but Al/Stradazone is killing it and carrying the band. Drummer is good too. But to get the gig night after night to play killer songs, why not.

What's the 1 knob Marshall the "Influencers" are hyping today?

They do sound really good as far as amp sims go but I know once i play through it, there will be a strange discord between latency but also touch and response. I currently will only go so far as tube amp through Load/IR. The response is strange off modelers when loaded in the DAW.

    82 JCM 800, 100% original....mod? or not?

IF you do get it modded, do not drill any new holes. You can get gain mods that are on push/pull pots, you can use low input jack for a pot, you can use one of the speaker out jacks for resonance mod etc.. little subtle things can be done to the preamp to shape it and those things can go on a...

    Deciding on pickups is tough

The Demon comes up over and over again and for just about everyone, the report is the same... under powered, weak. Like using a dimarzio HS-3 for the first time in the strat. These type of pickups work best if you have the rest of the sauce the artist uses/used. In Lynch's case, who knows what...

    Traynor Bassmaster mods

Just want to add that for us in Canada, these are some of the only vintage amps that still have a great pricetag on the used market. The YBA-1 trends higher but you can get a lot of models that are a few parts shy of being plexified between 4-600$. The one thing I hate about them is the deep ass...

    Deciding on pickups is tough

Check this out.. way less woof with the RTM when the guy plays them back to back. I like both but yes the RTM def addresses that wild low end.

    Deciding on pickups is tough

Duncan RTM for me and I am picky when it comes to my lows. I like a tight low end.

    Deciding on pickups is tough

I'm with you guys.. Dimarzio have a few stand out singles and the Chopper and Cruiser are good but humbuckers are tough for me. Always have that hi fi or overly compressed tone where Duncans keep the rawness going. The 36 anniversary humbuckers and a good old super D I do think are very good but...

    Deciding on pickups is tough

Also found that with the AT-1 in Les Paul type.. but that's why the old JB still gets er done in an LP if you are in a pinch.

    So I bought a Tonex

There are a ton of terrible user captures across all profiles.. but I imported a Superlead and then an extensive capture of Dave's BE- dlx synergy module and it was pretty good through Codex in Genome. That said, you REALLY have to dig.

    Traynor Bassmaster mods

Had one of these years ago... first thing you need to do is tighten bass response. I can't remember which one it was but there was a big ass mustard cap in preamp that I swapped for a .022 or .0022 and that "plexi-fied " it a bit more. I also installed a 3 prong power chord. That alone made it a...

    Deciding on pickups is tough

I have one of your alnico 8 prototypes in one of my strats and it is insane! So yeah, in the right guitar the 8 is a bit of a sleeper out there.

    Deciding on pickups is tough

I haven't read through 5 pages BUT to make it worse, pickups are often guitar specific. Also are you running no tone pot? All have an effect. Some pickups work pretty well across the board but still some will be that sound in that guitar and won't be the same in another. That's why I keep it...

    RedSeven look see...

It's not a morbid day in our history..it's just ANOTHER day in our history. Honestly, I think Canadians need to sit down and look at what is controlled at the provincial level vs federal level. If they did, they'd probably find they hate both major parties equally 😆 It is what it is, keep on...

    Torpedo Reload II - NEW

I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind teasing us, what other things are you giys thinking of? Smaller dedicated attenuation units for example. Also just to add on to what I said about the Reload I. Yes there is most definitely a difference between straight in and the Reload reamp / attenuation...

    Torpedo Reload II - NEW

He's got a day/night job and makes extra bank on the side doing paid videos. Doesn't schill it either, just shows you what it does and then the vid is over. Very different than a lot of youtubers.

    Torpedo Reload II - NEW

Finally a good demo of it actually attenuating against straight into the amp and volume matched. Thanks to Pete Thorn. Some people here like to bag on the guy BUT he's the only one so far to think of doing this. It's very minimal in coloration. Better than first generation Reload that's for...

Rabea gives us a taste of the new JCM 800 Modified

Sounds way better here you are right... Rabea gets meh tones.. still surprised why the guy has got such a huge following given that he is essentially part of the Load/IR bedroom generation. Exposure for companies i suppose. But he doesn't do the amp justice at all. The Marshall demo represents...

Looking For A Killer Small Format Studio Monitor Pair

I think IK multimedia has a small pair I-Loud. There are a few versions.. i am currently running those beside HS-5's just for variety. You know, for when I am going to write the album of the century rather than writing a few riffs, hating them, then deleting everything. So far 7 years in, I have...

    Friedman Jose, any news?

More importantly, will he do an IR pedal without NOS parts or a Synergy Module without NOS parts and put that out.. I can't afford one of those amps
