Kirk has the worst vibrato in rock BUT there is no denying how good a job he did on all those albums up to the Black Album. He made those pentatonics work for him. Marty redefined that whole scene on Rust in Peace though.
I've been buying additional cables, mic clips/stands to mic up my studio and man, the costs add up. We never really think of this when we get GAS and buy all this cool gear.
Crazy..looks like this is common to CAB M+ users and i have found many old threads including some I participated in 6 years ago where we all talked about noise and how independent of squealing, it is present as gain goes up and using the amp thru feature. So bottom line, this just is what it is...
Well, standing further from the amp def helps but the issue I have found.. (not sure if it is because i listen with headphones through the CAB M or not), but i hear a sort of swooshing noise always present. This slight interference static and swooshing sound. I can't say i hear that when mic'ing...
I don't know why these posts always turn into a Jake vs Randy thread but both are awesome players. Song writing wise come on, people act like Jake was throw away and it is about lead chops. Jake Slays on Ultimate Sin. Song wise, it is stronger than Diary for me as he had the time to put in on...
I guess that's the unfortunate thing. I like cutting british tones.. usually presence on 6 or 7 and treble around 6. Gain mods on the amp also drive it harder as does volume so seems like it is a recipe for disaster and probably why guys like Steve Stevens will use the technology but stand 20...
I do have a decimator but was not using the other day so that will for sure go in line when i record. Not the end of the world if i play standing up a few feet from the amp but i have a feeling it was doing it even 3 or 4 feet from amp which might be an issue but I'm going to try a few things...
Ok that was helpful and yes proximity ✔️, high end ✔️ gain ✔️ volume lol. I'm the poster child for the squeals.
Too bad because I love where I have things setup. I guess i can stand up and stand back if u step on a pedal or use the gain mods.
I wanted an EVH for a while but you are right.. couldn't bring myself to play someone else's axe though admittedly I bought an Edwards Schenker V :D.. I think they got it right with those EVH inspired solid colored relic'd series axes though.
Man for that price, it should of had a back plate and someone try to match the knobs... just a bit too rich for my blood but if they had it for 2000 i'd be tempted to make a silly purchase.
So I have been trying to find ways to cut tracks when my amps aren't screaming in the amp closet I am setting up. It's good for ideas or scratch track you can replace later on. I tried using Genome and Codex which were free to me because i have a Torpedo Reload and with the slight latency and...
I drum as well but playing guitar to a click sucks so i have been experimenting with tapping the basic beat and song i have in my head into SD3 on a midi pad and then can edit quick as needed or copy/paste parts and then play my riffs or song to the drums that go with it vs a boring old click...
To be fair, Deraps could put a JB in a 200$ guitar and through his Germino or Superlead is still gonna slay. The value on those 84's on the used market is reasonable though. Kramer is value for your $ in that regard.
Ebony fretboard? If so, I think I just came in my pants... love the ebony boards. Wish Charvel would throw those more in the mix on their super stock and other special editions.
