    Got a Diezel VH2 on a trade

I almost never use channel 4 but I LOVE channel 2 on the VH4. With the bright switch engaged you're not too far from 2203 tones but with that massive Diezel low-end (if you want it).

    Loudest High Gain Amp????

Have to agree with Mesa Mark III. Grabbed one from a member, unboxed it and fired it up with the Master a little over 3...bad idea. Definitely the loudest sound I've produced in my 40 years and that little III was sitting next to a VH4 and 2203 that I've taken to unhealthy volume levels.

ZUTA GBG120 - 120 Watt Rack Tube Amp

Definitely interesting...and having Euge demo your amp doesn't hurt. Guy is an absolute monster of a player.

    Who owns Victory amps?

Exactly, they literally own a gigantic music store. At no point do they claim to be unbiased. Ironically, I find some of their demos less biased than some so called independent reviewers - you can usually tell if they really like something or not.

    NAD KSR Orion

Got mine as well and I'm absolutely loving it. It's alot of amp in a very, very small package. This mf'er is true lunchbox size...it is tiny but weighs around 20 pounds so it doesn't feel like a toy. This one will send my Orthos 2 packing for sure. If you like the KSR sound I would...

    Danny Carey is a Beast

That's strange AF. I've seen Tool 5 or 6 times at this point and the live drum sound was godlike every time. The drums are definitely up in the mix but nothing like what you're talking about. Always sucks when the live mix is bad.

    Lets talk Marshalls

2203x does have a master volume though. Secret is to run the pre-amp gain high, can still get great sounds with a low master volume. I usually have my master below 1 with pre-amp cranked. It's not bedroom quiet but you're not gonna get the cops called on you either. Just use volume on your...

    Lets talk Marshalls

I love the 2203x. I have no clue if that's a good price or not or what these things go for if you put a little work into the search though.

    Mesa triple crown love!

Son of a bitch guys. The one modern Mesa I haven't tried and had no desire to until this thread. Bunch of assholes on here

    Danny Carey is a Beast

One of the best without a doubt. Also probably the best live drum sound I've ever heard.

    Lets talk Marshalls

They're good. I'm sure there's a vintage one you could find that would be better but for a current production, new amp I'd say they're damn good. I have the 2203x and it's excellent. Honestly I think it shits all over the vast majority of modern, boutique amps I've had.

    Lets talk Marshalls

JCM800 2203 - find an older one or just get the reissue...it's fantastic. Pre amp gain high and throw your favorite boost in front for modded Marshall tones. Click off the boost for general rock tones. Back off the volume on your guitar for lighter crunch or clean sounds. Everything you...

New Diezel day and lesson learned…

Right there with you OP. VH4 is just so damn unique and has such a signature sound that it is completely in its own lane. Also, the feel of that amp man - it's just so much fun to play. Absolute classic. I have a VHX as well but I rarely use it, putting it up for sale soon. Amazing piece of...

    Great Transaction with Bram576!

Recently purchased a Boogie Mark III no stripe from Bram576 - great, no BS transaction. Fair pricing, patiently waited a few days while I loaded cash into PayPal, shipped immediately once funds were secured, item came well packaged. Cool guy, easy to deal with - highly recommended if you...

    Carsten Grace w/matching 2x12 clip

Welp - just bought one of these. I absolutely love single channels with huge gain sweeps. This amp kind of seems like a higher gain version of the Dr. Z CAZ45 which I came close to pulling the trigger on multiple times.

    New Wizard Model: Hell Razor

Yeah the room experience and also the feel are really what sets Wizard apart. For recorded tones there isn't necessarily anything groundbreaking.

Mesa Boogie Mark III Black Stripe

What's your favorite amp to play live for those type of tones?

Dual vs Single vs Mini Rectifier

I've heard the same actually - going to wait for a Series 1 to pop up

Dual vs Single vs Mini Rectifier

Man every recent video of the Single I've seen has been the Series 1. I know they made some quality of life improvements on Series II (can run EL34, added the raw voicing, maybe a better loop) but I've yet to hear a demo on it. Those Series 1 demos are absolutely killer so now I want one but...

Dual vs Single vs Mini Rectifier

Great video man - single and dual are different enough to own both I think. I have a multi-watt dual, definitely intend on grabbing a single if a clean one comes around.
