Alright, time to switch out the EMGs in this Chubtone with pickups I actually like. Currently it has an 85/SA/SA combo and there is a big volume difference when switching around.
I think it's time to finally try a Norton, but will need singles. I don't like the look of the dual blade singles...
He cracks me up. I saw him do a show at a really good venue that used to be in Chattanooga several years ago. He killed it! He did a great cover of Voodoo Child.
This scalloped guitfiddle I got was supposed to have a PAF Pro or 36th PAF or something in the neck, but the seller was mistaken...it's an Evolution Bridge pickup that's been flipped around and stuck in the neck. It doesn't sound bad really, but I'd prefer something like an actual 36th PAF...
I mean, who doesn't like theatrical metal and beautiful women dancing around in the background. The pirouettes are a lil odd from a metal singer, but he's got a unique thing going on.
Ever since someone posted several weeks ago about their new single Lacrhyma, I've been listening to them on...
I'm with you, to a point. I think AJFA and MOP are on par with Megadeth's best, but Megadeth has MORE great songs/albums/etc than Metallica. Also, Youthanasia is their best imo.
I decided to order some straps since I have a few guitars without them and wanted to go with a traditional style leather strap instead of more of the nylon with the adjustable buckles. Plus, I can't find anymore of the bitchin' "snakeskin" ones I bought several of in my GC days. Anywho, I...
It's not really getting close enough to get them all. I did find a video last night where Stew Mac has these tools that look like a fret end file, but they just adhere some sticky backed sand paper to them and can use that to really get in there. I may buy a couple of those and keep various...
I dont need to hit the fret ends (I've been lucky so far), I'm talking about the front and back sides of the fret, like headed down towards the fretboard.
Since I've had to level either slightly, or a lot, and recrown frets on 3 of my guitars now, I need some ideas for polishing the sides of the fret. I can get the top pretty damn good with 0000 steel wool, then 5 grades of micromesh and my Dremel and metal polish.
I know I need to go get a...
A few weeks ago, I finally took the plunge and bought my own fret work tools. I used to go to my buddy's house, who used to build guitars, and he'd let me use his Stew Mac and other various tool brands to rock the frets, sand down the few bad spots, press frets back in, and micromesh them. I...
