I’ve wondered this. I’ve got an EVH WG…killer player but super thin. I’m mean really thin sounding. Could be the dude playing it too but…wonder if the fat brass L block will give a little less (bright)/thin.

I use a EH 5MM…a 2.5 W power amp in pedal form. Has a volume pot and bright switch. Works really well.

Oddly….The only guy that ever made me really want a telecaster. When he sat-in with Stewart and they covered the old People get Ready record. The guitar parts were just killer. The feel and emotion was incredible... grabbed me. RIP JB.
