Yes , my work job has picked up steam, big time, and I'm up in the fog of the steam! I do what I have to do to keep the ship upright. Being an old-head hotrodder, and seeing a 2001 Viper under a cover every morning sucks(meaning that I don't have the time to enjoy it). I am 52 yrs old with bad...
Have not needed power tubes in ages. Bought a box full of these when they were much cheaper, get it? NOT for sale. Got some good used 416's in that same box, also NOT for sale.
Started out with the Duncan Custom w/the Ceramic, then tried the A2, A5, and A8 in my LP. Came back to the A2. It just seemed to work better in THAT guitar. YMMV, depending on the guitars' inherent brightness.
I added a Pentode/Triode switch to a long head Green stripe Mark III, and it helped it sound more like my C+ in triode mode. More smooth than the Black stripe Mark III.
Does selling a 1969 SS 396 (468)Chevelle to buy a 2001 Viper GTS qualify as "selling out"? I went from a Laney AOR 100 to the Boogie Mark series back in the late 1980's. I do believe it was a "Step Up". I would still take the Laney over anything digital, but that is just me.
Played a 1978 Mark I 60/100 "HG" that had the "Post FX Level" mod done to it for many years. An old Boss OD-1 worked very well getting rid of the excessive low end that those amps have. Pure accident that I stumbled into this, with the Level maxed and the Drive just barely cranked, played...
I think that the crazy prices charged by Gibson for these artist series Les Paul guitars are insane. Everyone knows that each one sounds different and will not guarantee a good sounding Les Paul. I bought my 1973 Deluxe in the late 1980's and it is a total monster after all the mods that were...
I have a metal grille 4x12 MESA cab with the top half blocked off in the rear. All 4 speakers EVM-12L and it sounds fine compared to my EVH 4x12 Stealth cab with the Celestion speakers. Is the top half of your cab open back?
Got the "Steve Lukather " EMG-X set in my Jackson SL-1 with the SPC mid boost control. The mid boost can bring back what is lost with the Floyd Rose bridge.
Tried many magnets in my SD Custom Custom, and came back to the A2. Paired with the SD Pearly Gates in the neck position, it works well for me in my 1973 pancake body Goldtop.
