Mind fucked an AxeFX owner yesterday with the IIC+ Coli full stack.

Solid state power cannot replicate the dynamics of tube power, in my ears.

Incoming NGD: 1980 LP Custom Silverburst

Kemper users: Free Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+Kemper Profiler pack!

When I play my C+ Boogies, I prefer the pants ruffling sound a 4x12 halfback EVM-loaded speaker cab. It just makes the whole experience, for me.

Laney VH100R: redundant if I have a hot rodded Marshall?

My first tube amp was a Laney AOR Pro tube 100 with the G12K-85 4x12 back in the mid 1980's. It was the shiznit, at the time, for me.

Remember scooping your mids for the first time???

Sounds pretty good on the MESA Mark series rhythm tone if not taken to the extreme, otherwise it just kills the actual tone of the individual guitar. For leads I think that it really does suck even more life out of it. Many YouTube video evidence says it all.

    Pickup for bigger sound?

I have the Duncan Custom that I tried the A2,A5,and A8 magnets in. I ended up going with the A2, because my 1973 pancake Les Paul goldtop was a bit on the bright side. Every Les Paul will like different things, so make it your own.

    Your thoughts on the EVM12L

I have liked the EV for a long time because it is very true to the sound of your guitar, BUT you have to set said guitar AND amp up for the EV's. That includes electronics in the guitar, and preamp tubes and the 6L6/6CA7 combo in the MESA 2C+. The EV does not like a dive bomb on the 750 Hz EQ...

    One off IIC+…?

I played a Red Stripe III that was SO close in tone to my DRG C+ amps. It just did not have quite the dynamics without the 105 PT. I can see why some folks think the III is just as good, until you play them in an A/B situation.

    One off IIC+…?

$2500.00 is a fair price for an original DRG short head. Anything more is an ass raping.
