I use one with my Splawn to gig with (have been for 2 years now) I loaded my own IR and it sounds great
the attenuation is a bit severe even on the first click down but if you have a really loud amp it's actually pretty good
Today it was my 2010 MIJ Socal that I converted to a H/S/S
I've come to the conclusion that I have too many guitars but I love them all so it's very difficult to put any of them up for sale. :(
I've Got JJ EL34II's for power tubes
Mullard (NOS) V1
(NOS)RFT V2, V3
(NOS) Tungtram V4
this circuit loves the RFT's
I rolled a bunch of tubes with mine and these have sounded the best (I've had them in for about a year now)
this morning I decided to give the "Infinity Blue" a little work out, it's been a while since I played this one
I was quickly reminded how fast the neck is on this one.
Suhr Aldrich in the bridge with a push/pull pot and a 1'4 pounder in the neck. I gigged this guitar a lot last year , but my 2...
I have switched to using a Parametric EQ from the Fractal FX8 (one less thing on the board to plug in) basically a hi/low cut with a slight mid boost, really made my sound (according to some guitarist friends who come to my gigs) "Clearer. that's on my Splawn patch
My Mark IV patch I do...
this is pretty Accurate, the RY is a bright pickup, in the wrong guitar it can get shrill.
I've used a lot of BK pickups in 6 an 7 string configurations, the Holydiver and Alnico Nailbomb are my favorites, but even those need to be in
the right guitars.
lately I've been loving the Duncan Custom...
Today it's the guitar I've held on to the longest . I've had this since 2002 and it was my go-to guitar for years, but it's in standard tuning and my band plays down 1/2 a step so my SL1 gets all the play time, but I was reminded today how much I love this guitar and may drop it down 1/2 a step...
How many times did Mindcrime and Empire go Platinum? I think money wise Chris is probably more than all set.
shit I would think they all should be all set financially
Watching some recent interviews with Tate since he had heart surgery I think he's mellowed a bit and maybe even realizes "he...
I never got the chance to see them in their heyday so this was kind of thrill for me, they played enough songs from Mindcrime and Empire to satisfy me, the band did look like hipsters but the songs sounds good instrumentally so I ignored it.
A full blown reunion would be great but at this late...
I must say I was very impressed , the guy is 65 years old and his voice his still right there all night.
His band was very good, I noticed ampless on stage, I don't know they were off stage and mic'd or they were all modeling but it sounded damn good.
not my video but this was the show I was at...
I've seen Joe a few times over the years, I liked his live tone best back before he went with Peavey (Marshall 6100's?)
I wish Scott Splawn would just send him a Quickrod, he could nail VH with that and nail all of his own tones no problemo.
