POLL: What Tubes Are You Running in Your Diezel VH4?

I fkn LOVE 6550's in my VH4 amps. But according to Papa, he frowns on their utility as they run pretty hot and pull a lot from the pV and circuit of the amp. But dear gawd do they sound ridiculously good.

POLL: What Tubes Are You Running in Your Diezel VH4?

Currently KT77s, used to LOVE 6550s (SED =C=) but Papa's gonna come in here and blast my ass for mentioning such ? Only once used 6L6, they were neat - might give 'em another chance when these current 77s kick the bucket, but overall, been very happy with the JJ KT77s in my Hagen, VH4 and...

Dan's dental bills firesale! Guitars, amps, rack gear, and accessories!

Not sure to what extent this dentistry is encompassing your financial future, but have ya thought about getting all your work done in the Philippines? No lies man, they got top notch dentists at a fraction of the cost. I know some highfalutin' folk in both Cali and Hawaii who fly there JUST...

    VH4 Channel 2 not working

I would politely ask him to find out who he/she recommends and can entrust working on an amp of this calibre and to kindly pick up the invoice for such services. Sounds to me like this might be a donkey in a china shop situation and ya, I'd be a little concerned about some hack with a solder...

    VH4 Channel 2 not working

If it's an OLD VH4, it could be a fault preamp tube (V4), but if it's a relatively modern VH4, then V1 supplies all channels, and Ch.2 relies on V3 and V4, as do all the other channels (save for V3 NOT supplying Ch.1) I doubt one side of a preamp tube would result in only a hum - I'm not...

    VH4 Channel 2 not working

I'm sorry to say - this is going to have to rest on the responsibility of the repair shop then. 100% - if all channels were working going INTO the shop, but Ch.2 is NOT working coming out of the shop - math is simple. They fucked something up and need to fix it.

    VH4 Channel 2 not working

No sound at all???? Just a hum????? Does the hum get louder when the MV or CV get turned up/down???? More importantly - did it work BEFORE going to the repair shop???

    Les Paul tragic considers ESP

I'm a Les Paul diehard. Fact. They're "home" to me. The only other guitar that actually kicks my ass and is a total trip to play are ESP Horizons, particularly the NT7s. Can't explain it - they feel like opposite sides of the universe when holding and playing them - but for whatever reason...

Question For Hagen Owners - Thank You

Bit late to the party, but as you'd likely seen in the other threads re: the VH4 and the Hagen - I own both (along with the D-Moll) - and there were periods of time where I thought I could let one or the other go, whether it was the V or the Hagen... Regrettably I did, and within a VERY short...

Favorite pickups in your Les Paul with Diezel VH ?

Lower/moderate output pups tend to work best - IME - with most of the Diezels I've tried. Not sure what it is - but this range of magnets seems to really let the amps shine. VH4, Hagen, D-Moll. But I've also swapped stock pups for RebelYells in 3 of my Lesters as they are fkn mad good pups...
