I'm primarily a bass player. I find that barring some extreme settings, the Wizards do not bury the low mids which is what I push / compress on bass. I haven't attempted to reamp / record with my new MCII but I feel like the way the mids sit on that with lower saturation is going to work even...
I thought mine sounded a little dark and hollow but once I got over the “set it all at noon” bias and bumped the bright (about 2:00-3:00 for me) and presence (also 2:00). I also got an MCII for the same reasons you listed and in the hopes that it would be an either/or scenario. The MCII has a...
I love the Chase Bliss designs and business model. Their pedals are not cheap, unconventional, and somewhat involved but I love them. I own the Warped Vinyl (vibrato / chorus) and the Chase Bliss / Meris collaboration: the CXM 1978 reverb (the one with all the mechanized sliders). I enjoy them.
Ended up getting a MCII. It covered the exact itch I was hoping it would. The upper mids focus over the MTL is more pronounced than I expected. The rhythm channel is a perfect platform for boosting. I can coax the Plexi tones I was hoping to achieve. I noticed that the rhythm channel also has a...
I use the ACS 4x4 FX. Been great to avoid the speed bump associated with rewiring. Also nice to keep a noise gate, reverb, and attenuator across all amps. Mogami inherited a lot of my money after that purchase!
I run an Aguilar DB750 (or AG500 Dual Channel) in a DB410 cab and GS112 cab. Darkglass B7K and Empress Compressor live up front. Went through Ampeg, Ashdown, and Eden and haven't looked back after Aguilar. Great stuff.
Bass wise, here's what I have. Another Zon is hopefully getting built as we...
Depends on what I’m plugging into my MTL. Currently really liking the Alnico Cream set in my Wizard cab.
Also like it with a V30 and G12H-75 Creamback pair. They complement each other well.
Apologize if this was covered in another thread (I looked). I currently own an MTL MKII. Looking for something to complement it with more prominent high mids (going to remain in the mid to high gain realm). I’ve checked out the YT videos on the W800, but that’s doing it a disservice.
Any...
